Source of metal console frame/legs for Porcher sink?

I'm desperately looking for a sink, now that I've decided that my first choice is probably going to be too expensive. I love this one by Porcher (see link below)

but the console version comes only in 27" and I need 24". The sink itself comes in 24" width. I was wondering if any companies made console frames that might fit the smaller sink. This would solve a problem for me, because the bathroom is so small that I will have trouble setting up enough towel space. I'm looking for polished nickel, and the Porcher 27" console is available in that finish.

Herbeau makes one that is 25" but that seems to be meant for a 27" sink also. It looks like sinks that small are usually wall-hung and just have two legs, not a console. Have you considered this very reasonably priced alternative from Cheviot?

Here's a console kit -- scroll down to where it says:

New! Console Type Leg Kit with Towel Bars

The description says that all tubes can be cut to fit, which means that you can adjust the height, too, not just the width to accomodate a 24" sink of your choosing. They have the polished nickel you are looking for, but it's not cheap.

(I'm looking at products for a small powder bath, too, so I've been on a lot of sites lately looking at these things.)

I forgot to mention, make sure you take the thickness of your granite into account when you measure your height for your legs- were your wall faucets installed for something that was overall 35" or that was 35" + 3cm/1.25" granite? If your granite is only 2cm/3/4" I am not sure it will span on its own without something supporting it but 3cm will. Sorry if you have this all sorted out again I just popped into this forum after not being here for a long time. The other thing to think about when using console legs is that the underside of your sink needs to be glazed. Most are not as they are intended to be installed in a cabinet. I ended up not being able to use the first sink I purchased when it arrived and I realized it had an unglazed bottom. And WOW I cannot believe how much the price of newport brass has gone up since we did our bathroom - I paid around $550 for ours in chrome (I wanted a 30" wide console which they had standard, which is why I did not order from the place I had linked) - the same one is nearly $900 now! But DEA's prices seem the same (at the time I was on the fence between chrome and nickel, DEA's prices even with modifications were less in Nickel than NB, but when I went for chrome NP was cheaper and the right size so I just went with that). I'm not sure what you mean by NB doesn't have the vintage look though - here is our NB/brasstech 30" console (though they do make it in 36" too but it is now MUCH more expensive - more than double the other I linked). This is it without the plumbing hooked up (sorry I can't find an after, I am not sure I took any!) I'm not sure what the height is but it's taller than our other vanity, that's for sure.

I don't think your sink was intended to be a console, but I suspect that with the right legs, it could be made to work like one. In general, I think a good portion of the weight of most console sinks is designed to be held from the wall using a cleat of some type. So I'd check the part of the sink that goes against the wall to see if there's any support structure there. If not - or potentially, even if there is - it could be your best route is to go custom. You seem to be aware of the high price of console legs (Yikes! I'm in the wrong business!) If you were willing to consider wood (I've seen some lovely ones) or black-painted metal, I'm betting you could have a frame and legs made for less than most metal sets. With regard to period-appropriateness -- I'm thinking that most consoles were before the 1950's.

I'm with allison. That is one stunning sink! I would check with a plumber/contractor, but typically a sink and marble top have a piece of plywood on top of the sink cabinet/base with a cutout for the sink and faucet holes. This is to prevent any cracking of the marble/granite. The exception to this is with 3 cm. granite, but with an antique sink like that I would not take any chances. I like your idea of converting an antique cabinet. If you find one that has legs at the base, it should not look overly bulky. If the size is unusual, I'd find a custom cabinet maker to make one in an antique look. If you look online and magazines, I'm sure you can find an inspiration pictures for a cabinet maker to work with. You can also do something with open shelving and baskets below.

Thanks everyone for your help. I love those copper frames @ CB2 and even the deco wood mirrors, but I feel like there is so much going on in this room, I want some elements to repeat, hence the bronze. (I’m going for a quiet 12” tile floor that sort-of looks like sand) @Nancy in Mich thanks so much for mentioning the faucet and the pivot sink. You are right! No pivot mirror! I don’t want it crowding my faucet. BTW, the PB one comes in black, not bronze (doh, my bad) so that wouldn’t work anyway. But thanks for this good point. That would have been horrible for me. Any thoughts on the drawer hardware for that vanity (the top blue dresser style one)? My thought is to emphasis the dresser look and have each drawer have a pair of knobs. I’d choose chrome to match the Rohl faucet, so there’s some repetition. Maybe little round ones (Vs. square). For the hand-towel, I found a 10” wide l-shaped bar (from Kohler, looks a bit industrial, so goes w/ the sconces, in my mind) and then the tp holder also in bronze. I‘m wary of mixing metals in such a small room, so it would be chrome faucet and knobs (and toilet lever, I guess) and ORB everything else, including the hadware on the pocket door.

californiagirl, thank you for the suggestion. I love the Cheviot sink - it is very similar to the Porcher. And the price is great. But the frame is not available in polished nickel. I'm also worried about the towel bars sticking out on the sides; if they are not removable, then the whole thing would be too wide.

I absolutely love the Dea Bath console! It is perfect, polished nickel and all. But for over $600 for the frame alone, I'd be better off going back to my original (too expensive but less expensive) option. But this does give me towel hanging space.

Will have to think about this.

Try Newport Brass as well. They have a lot of different console legs.

californiagirl, The link below is the sink that I originally chose. I can get it locally for $800, and I have not been able to find a lower price online.

I like the Le Bijou sinks/legs, but could not find prices, or whether the legs come in polished nickel.

Will check out Newport Brass.
