I was surfing the web tonight and found this web site. I am not suggesting that anyone order from them; I was just floored at the prices they are charging for a "complete" tablescape. They do have some cute ideas, but I think our little group does much better with "found" objects from thrift store, bargin shopping, Yard and garage sales and shopping our homes. Just take a look and you will appreciate what you do on much less. Janet

They do have nice ideas...(great to refer to) ...
but I agree WAY overboard in pricing !

You all are such fun friends . . . and so darned talented, too! Many thanks for the compliments on my table (I bought it used, you know, at a consignment & antique store locally last May). As for these great new plates, they're from Target and were only $5 each. So far, I've only bought 4 dinner plates, but plan to buy the salad plates this Tuesday, since DH likes them and so do I. Let me be frank here, I buy most of my decs at deep discount, on sale or at consignemnt shops. That's just the kind of person I am . . . whether you call it cheap, frugal or whatever, I really pride myself on saving money and not buying unless I can pay cash for it (I have deep Quaker and Catholic roots, which DH says, both inspires and inhibits me . . . and makes me feel terribly guilty at times. LOL!). Anyhoo, I didn't want anyone to think that I've gone out and bought and total new set of dishes just for some flighty reason. But . . . that said, this forum has been such fun, as it inspires my creative side immensely. Black Thumb, those are pretty ddishes, but check out the prices my set. They're very reasonable, especially if you can buy them separately, like I can at Target. I do NOT need any more cups, so I'm just buying the dinner and salad plates. Lynn

Kathleen, Sorry I haven't been around very much lately. I usually try to at least stop in and check the newest posts every day if possible. It's been so hectic around here lately. End of the year paperwork to get done at the church( I'm the Sec/Treas), kids home for a long Christmas holiday, Alfred is still home full time recovering, and the major thing is- (don't laugh) I am trying to learn to play the piano by ear with a crash course!!! We haven't had a regular piano player at our church in a long time. We have a lady that plays the organ, Alfred plays the guitar, and our youngest son plays the bass guitar. But, everyone knows that you have to have a piano for it to really sound good. I took several years of piano lessons when I was young, but quit and never played anymore. Now, for this to work I have to learn by ear because they change the chord for every song that is played depending on who is singing it and what chord they can sing in. There is no way you can have sheet music for every song in every chord. Hence the "by ear" lessons from Alfred. I need a miracle because I AM NOT gifted in this type of playing! So, I have been spending a lot of time sitting at the piano. But, I will be doing a Valentine dinner table and I will try to post a pic. BTW, our pork chop dinner was delish! Betty

Frou..what a lovely - lovely table. That milkglass centerpiece it's just so pretty. Your snowflake tablecloth is just perfect with your place settings (so striking)..and I love the added snowflake for each. I think the glassware and their color is just beautiful too. What a clever way to 'swirl' the snowball/pom-pom garland around the table...it's such a lovely touch. We got tons of snow here the other day and more is on it's way... Shall I fill up the bus? jane

Thanks Jane and Nana. I was hoping to add some lilacs to the setting, but they were just starting to open. It has been rain and snow all day, so I doubt they will amount to much this year, :( It was supposed to be a free golf day for Mothers at the course today, but obviously, there was no golf!!!! I have had a very nice day, but not quite what I had planned. Oh well, curled up by the fire, and as Annie says "the sun will come out tomorrow." Although my senior league golf tournament for tomorrow is also cancelled. Spring around here is a very schizophrenic season, LOL TTFN, Candy

Sorry the link didn't work, but thanks Jane for posting the right link. Like you said great ideas to refer to, but WAY overboard on pricing. You can get great ideas, I realized that I have faux books 4 to be exact in graduated sizes that sit on an iron stand, that I bought at an auction, if I remember right for $12. I had never thought of breaking the set up to use an individual book in a tablescape. You just never know where you will find inspiration.

Nice...I wonder how many orders they get? It's always fun to look at tablescapes so thanks much for sharing all these with us. Your faux books sound great.

I had never thought of mixing the different patterns of dishes on one ts until I came here and now I love it. I got my table reset tonight and will post a picture later.

They have very nice table decor, but I agree the members here do as well if not better and for a lot less!!

The table topper is heirloom as are the silver S & P shakers, and the flatware is my everyday that I bought with box top coupons many years ago. So, I don't have everything included, but still quite a bit less than what ETI charges!

I agree that the members here set tables every bit as elegant as those on the above website and I'm sure ours are almost universally much less expensive than the prices charged for those tables!

Plus, we have so much fun creating ours. No creative process involved if you just order a whole TableScape right off of the website and then you know there are other tables out there exactly the same.
We know ours are unique!!

I am not saying that the tables on the website aren't pretty. Just that the members here do as well on a budget and enjoy the creativity involved to boot!

Janet, thanks for sharing this website. I agree there were some cute ideas. It was fun to look at and get some ideas we can use on our own TS's.

Neat site to browse, tho the prices had my jaw dropping.
And their tables aren't as pretty as the ones here!

I agree with Candy about the fun of creativity, and bargain hunting, for tables. Tho I can see why some people would just rather order the whole deal and not be bothered with the details! NOT fun!

I finally took the time to browse that site. Didn't even bother looking at prices--but I have to say I really liked the bird tablescapes. Very cute! Thanks for sharing Janet. Luvs
