Hey Oak, nice to see you here again! Yep, lots of the gals decorate them just like cloches. Check Jeanne's red-white-blue thread, she did her's Patriotic and so pretty. I finally got a big pedestal covered cake stand and only wanted it to decorate with. You can also check our Inspiration album with cloche decor for ideas.

Those are good ideas, but I'm talking about how to display and decorate around a cake stand, one with color or pattern on it.

Look at the one in the link below. It'd sure look good in my kitchen! lol. It's a stand pretty enough to leave out but I was wondering how one decorates around it? Probably with plates standing up behind the stand.

I think you could use it either way ... change the decor that you place "on top" of the red plate ... like myself I probably would put a framed photo & add small accessories that fit with the theme.

Or if you want to leave just the cake stand as a piece by itself...then you could surround it with a few beautiful glass goblets or fav items you love to keep in your kitchen.

Here's a pic of my cake stand (clear glass) without the dome on top for Easter decor on my counter...was just experimenting because of the motivating ideas on this forum! Whatever you do, have fun! Jeanne S.

What beautiful pictures and good ideas! It's funny, I did a search on cake stands and the Target stand came up first which is the only one I've looked at so far, and I want it! lol. But darn they're expensive! It sure would go well with my kitchen which has a lot of red in it.

Jeanne, I also like how you have your's at the corner of your countertops.

I think I got a set of three stands for $20 on Target's website. This is going back at least 5 years tho.

Look at this three tiered cake stand I got at Amazon for only $10! The best thing is it matches some tea items I have on the hutch where I'll set it.

I have a gold finished three layer stand which allows you to use your own plates according to the time of year, or what holiday or event you are using it to serve from. The stand takes standard size china or dinner plates. I've had it forever, but use it frequently when we have dinner guests. I don't have to worry about where I am going to park the desserts. I can put three pies, or three different desserts, one on each layer. Sometimes I will use the top layer for candies or chocolates.

The $20 cake stands (set of 3 graduated sizes) I purchased from Target online are clear glass. I purchased them to use in decorating project I was inspired to do after seeing one that judithva created. The three graduated clear stands plus a sundae dish from a dollar store are the "bones" of the project. You can do any holiday or occasion, only limited by your imagination! When they aren't "decorated", the stands can be used separately. Very nice to have the different size options.

Work in progress, hello and welcome to the holiday forum. Most of us have/do decorate the three tiered stands after having seen that very first Fall themed one that Judith shared over on the Home Decorating forum a couple years back. Karen probably has most that we've done in the album, but if not, you'll find lots of them if you look at old posts for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. They are fun and always a real eye catcher. Be sure to share pics with us of any you create too, we love seeing them. Luvs

Hi Work, had to laugh as Judith's stacked plates is how I stumbled on this Forum. I got a set and haven't looked back since. LOL. I did glue mine together due to having cats, plus I don't worry about moving them around and dropping them myself.
Luvs is right, there is an inspiration album for them and tiered servers. Between these and decorating cloches...
its such a an easy and wonderful way to do so much with so little! Now the cake plates are going to be added to that list I think. I love Jeanne's Easter one each time I see
it. So pretty!
I'm figuring if I ever get sent to a nursing home, my cloche and stacked plates can come with me. LOL.

Oakley, I love the tiered stand you ordered. I haven't done any stacked plates or cake stands either, but the inspiration pix are great. I often buy the tiered tidbit trays when I see them for cheap and I fill them with home-made teacakes for gifts. Or candy at Christmas.
