TINY powder room....need some help!
Comments (14)The other thing you might want to consider for your bathroom is some kind of tile. I write about kitchens and baths all the time, and one of the things that most interests me is the absolutely mind-blowing things that can be done with tile. Last month I posted what was probably the thirtieth or fortieth blog on this subject (thereÂs a link below). ThereÂs a company in Italy that makes tile that actually look a bit like lava flows from a volcano! But what blew my mind all the more was the elegance with which this concept was evoked. And the many things that can be done with it. Working in a space that small, you will, after youÂve installed the toilet and sink have a very small bathroom. But you knew that when you started. So, what happens next? If you simply install a "standard" toilet and vanity, you will be left with a nondescript room that is much too small. On the other hand you can use something like the Volcanic Designer Tiles I wrote aboutÂor, quite frankly, about a bazillion other tile designs that are available these daysÂto transform that dinky little room into something that is a real conversation piece. All it takes is a momentÂs boldnessÂand some slick tile! Here is a link that might be useful: Cabinet & Furniture Trends & Information...See MoreNeed a mirror for tiny "new" bedroom
Comments (28)I'm getting nutty over this now but THIS is more or less what I originally had in my head. Only round. But this could work! I like the simplicity. https://www.rhteen.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhtn_prod100082&categoryId=rhbc_cat481025 Here's a round one, just not sure if I like the little holes in the frame? https://www.rhteen.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhtn_prod100081&categoryId=rhbc_cat481025 I really love this frame, but I'm not spending this much. https://www.rhteen.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhtn_prod100648&categoryId=rhbc_cat481025...See MoreTiny vintage powder room needs something
Comments (39)It's all great except for the towel ring! (And the roller shade, but you've addressed that!) Very pretty room. I bet my windowless powder room is even smaller than yours ;) If I were you, I'd ditch the towel ring and put a very simple hook centered under the window, and use fingertip towels instead of full-size hand towels. We have little hooks for towels in all of our bathrooms. I wouldn't get too decorative with it, just a simple hook that doesn't come out too far from the wall. I am also a fan of window film. There are lots of options online, from basic etched glass to more decorative patterns. In your case, I'd go simple....See MoreNeed help with tiny dining room
Comments (21)The cupboard would look better without anything on the top, because it is not really good to draw the eye so high up to the ceiling of the room. Not a good look. I'd also remove the wreath, but that's just personal preference as I don't like to see furniture with things attached to it like a wreath. I agree that the rug should be removed, it moves the eye "in" and emphasizes the small size. I would replace the mirror with a piece of wall art the same size, hung lower so that the midpoint is 60" from the ground. That will move the eye "out" and make the room seem larger. I would keep some type of drapery. The blinds alone are a bit too bare. It could just be something semi-sheer and floaty, e.g. sheer linen. It will add some softness to the room. It could be a color that looks good with your chair seats, which you could recover to give some color to the room. I love the wood of your table, and I think it looked better without the runner. @pennydesign, that china cabinet in the closet looks lovely....See Moremojomom
