I know that last fall GE released the newer Advantium OTR as a GE Profile and GE Cafe. Both of the 120v units had the same features and touch control pad, but the exterior design of the units were different to match the Profile or Cafe line. There is also the 240v model, but its more expensive and requires a 240v outlet. I hadn't heard that there were issues with the touch pad, does it not work right? Two years ago when out 8 year old GE OTR microwave died, we looked at the current Advantium model at that time and didn't like how it looked, so we got the GE Profile OTR Convection Microwave in stainless. It looks nice and convection works well, tough with only a 1500w heating element it can take 10 min to preheat. The only thing I don't like about it is the black control pad with white numbers/letters. It is hard to see in low-light. When I saw the new Advantium in the store last year, and the touch pad was backlit, it made we wish I had that one instead, if only my older microwave would have lasted me a year longer. I'm not a fan of the Cafe design, think the Profile series looks better.

theultimatebikerchic, I'm pasting directly from GE Cafe Q&A page answers given by GE representatives(I doubt that profile range would be any different, but you should look into that yourself) 'The lower large oven offers 9' of usable height and the upper smaller oven offers 5 1/2' of usable height' 'There are a number of functions available for the lower oven (i.e. convection bake, regular bake, convection roast, etc.) but you do the broiling in the upper oven. The lower oven does not have a broil setting so you�ll want to save the broiling tasks for the upper oven' So if you have something large to broil you're out of luck. Also i've read a number of complaints that the top oven doesn't bake evenly or burns the food (convection is not available) and that both ovens are less functional then one large oven. On the plus side, the heating time is much less and if you are on top of your food, it cooks much faster, and you can multitask a lot. eggandart49, thanks for the kind words. I had no idea how difficult these decisions would be!! in our last house, it was ll about budget, so things were a lot simpler. Ikea cabinets, basic appliances, and we used our creative DIY ingenuity for some awesome -but low-cost- details that made the kitchen pretty "wow" on a slim budget. This house is an investment for us, a 3-year project. A nice house is a VERY nice neighborhood that needs major updating. The market won't allow Ikea cabinets and budget appliances here. Which is, on the one hand, fun.... but also problematic. I have expensive tastes, and so the fact that I have bigger budget makes me want to go all out on my perfect kitchen.... but resale is key here so I can't be too avante garde. I'd be very sleek, green, and practical in my perfect kitchen... but here we need to stay "upscale cottage" (cherry shaker cabs, granite). Still, it's nice to be able to look at the nicer things. I just checked with a local real estate guru and she thinks "pro-style" is the way to go (even an "unknown" name). given that I'd prefer to cook on one for the next 3 years, I think I will go for it. So now it's down to the Capital or the American! Capital has 4x 15k btu. I think the American has one that's 17k. On an completely different topic, i'm shocked at how chintzy the interior of our expensive (well, expensive to ME) fridge is. We're getting the Jenn Air counter depth french door model and the produce drawers and stuff are as bad as the el-cheapo fridge in here now!! you'd think for $2500 you would get a little better drawer slides and stuff. Still, I love the way it looks, and presmably it'll keep stuff cold!!! And, I found a floor model on sale for $1800! Anyway- thanks so much for your comments... they really help!! Stacey

I have a GE Cafe dual fuel range. I'm very happy with it. To address your questions/concerns: * I do find the second oven very useful. I use it often as a warming oven and it's great for holidays when you need the extra room -- a 9x13 baking dish fits easily. It heats to 400 degrees. * I don't think the griddle is underpowered, however it is smallish, so I'm more likely to use my electric skillet because it's bigger. * I also have the GE Cafe OTR microwave. Yes, the handle does get warm and the control panel "fades" momentarily when a pot is boiling on high on the right front burner, but I haven't found it to be a big problem and I wouldn't hesitate to buy both appliances again. * I'm in love with the probe feature of the oven. Perfectly cooked meat every time! * I haven't had a problem with scratching the stainless. I wash the top with hot soapy water, then dry with a clean dish towel. It still looks great after a year and a half. Hope this helps. Good luck with your choice!
