recommendation for multifunction microwave/oven

Very new here and am trying to figure out the appliances for our kitchen addition. It looks like we're going with a GE CafÃ© dual fuel range to get a 30" slide in with 2 ovens (vs a warming drawer) within the allotted budget and space. I do occasionally need another oven so I was thinking of getting a built in microwave that also does convection or some other type of "regular" cooking. And I really don't know what features to look for, or what brands are good in this space. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We have had an Electrolux "Speed Oven", since June of 2006.
It does everything and is easy to use. A "Far out" cooktop that I had purchased gave out--leaving us without a stovetop. The Speed oven took over those chores--boiling Spaghetti, doing sauces, etc etc. I even do toast in it.
Even before that "Fancy cooktop" busted for good, the Speed oven was our most used appliance. Used it for baking potatoes, making coffee, even making my toast.
One advantage of the Electrolux is that it is always in the microwave mode, unless you choose something else--ie bake, grill, roast etc etc.
One reason that this feature is handy(in microwave mode unless otherwise told) is one user had talked about a competive brand , where you had to go to some kind of "Menu" or whatever to select "Microwave"
I cant function in the morning till I have coffee, I use the speed oven to heat the cup of coffee, so (kinda by instinct "pre coffee") I just poke in "120" (2 mins) ((Huge cup)) LOL and the thing even turns the start button green so I know whats to poke next.
It has been completely trouble free.
It does however require a 220 volt circuit so be forwarned.

We have had a Sharp 930 micro/convec for 5 years and use it pretty much as a small oven and regular micro as well as for some specialty dual function/combo cooking. Have been very pleased with it. As for features you might like, that depends on the types of cooking you do. The Sharp is not good at broiling or toasting, but fine for convec roasting, baking and non-micro reheating (so stuff doesn't come out mush), keep-warm (has a 150F setting) and speed defrosting and cooking with the dual micro/convec settings (temp control plus either 10% or 30% micro power). In micro-only cooking it's a little slower than micro only ovens we've had in the past, but that may be a tradeoff for its size (it has two shelves). I even do popovers in a regular size muffin and they come out just fine.

We have an oven/microwave combo (KitchenAid). If I could redo my kitchen I might do that part differently. I did not know when I designed my kitchen last year that microwave drawers were a thing. If I had known I might have chosen that with a built in oven instead. I do not dislike our oven/microwave however I do have concerns about the microwave breaking. The fan was actually broken when we installed it, and we had to get it repaired. So if something happens to it, I know we will have to pull the entire unit out to get it fixed which is more of a pain than just fixing a microwave. The other issue I have with it is that microwave is a little higher than I would like. We installed the unit 1.5" higher than they recommend (so I could have a 15" drawer below) and since I'm only 5'3" the microwave is a little bit high for me. Even installing it at suggested height would still leave it higher than the ideal. A drawer would be a nicer height most likely. I definitely like having a separate gas rangetop and built in oven. There are many reasons I want them separate, so a range was never an option for me. But I probably won't combine the oven and microwave again if I did another kitchen.

Will they be stacked in a tall cabinet? Consider a single wall oven with a MW alcove above so you can purchase a less expensive MW to place in the alcove. Not sure what to tell you about wall ovens. I recommend posting on Appliances as well. (This should bump up your question to the first page for others to chime in!)

What is next to the 24". As others have posted, much depends on the floor plan. What would you be giving up if you enlarged the space? I have a small kitchen and so I don't have much free counter space in total but one learns to work with the limitations of the kitchen. It also depends on how far away other counter space would be since you could move items from one place to another as necessary and the landing spot adjacent to the oven is really only critical for taking out stuff directly from the oven as generally you can move it from there if you need to free up the space.

I'm considering an Advantium for this purpose though we'll probably use it as our main oven when I'm just cooking for the two of us.
