Hand towel bar or hook
Comments (9)I think it's called sine. Our sales guy really pushed us to go with certain things (like the Cifial faucet)--good quality at good price points, at least when compared to some of the other stuff we liked! We really didn't "have a choice." He said get this, so we did. LOL He's not an advocate of spending more than needed for a guest bath (get the spendier/fancier things for "the baths where you begin and end your day" he's fond of saying), but would steer us away from something if he felt it was garbage or just not worth the $....See MoreHooks vs. bars: Help Single Dad w/ my towels!!
Comments (18)We have hooks and heavy 33x66 bath sheets and have not had any problems with them drying - I have found that they don't dry as well on bars because the towels have to be doubled over to fit on the bars if you don't have room for 36" bars. Double bars were even worse IME because there ended up being eight layers of thick fabric in a small area. Two towels on one double hook (Delta Victorian, not one I'd recommend) dry just fine. I live in coastal New Hampshire where it is downright malarial in the warm months and arid in the cold; towels are laundered once a week and we have no problems with funkiness. We do also have the issue of towels not being hung neatly on bars, and I think decorative towels are silly (I am pretty much a failure as a girly-girl!). :-) Here's a picture: One way to evaluate whether towels dry sufficiently on hooks where you live would be to get some of the cheap over-the-door hooks from somewhere like Walmart and give it a shot before installing anything permanent....See MoreTowel bars or towel hooks??? Comments (23)Is there any reason not to use robe hooks instead? Many of them look better to me, but they also need to hang onto the towels. The white rubber tip is ingenious, but I'm thinking about how they look when empty (these would be for guests, they could also use them to hang up their clothes when showering.) I have also thought of sewing the loops on the towels, but it seems like that would make them hang even more compressed, and less likely to dry. But in our climate, if you stay so long your towel smells moldy, it is probably time to go home! (But I have lived places where that seems to happen almost immediately, so your mileage may vary) Are some shapes better than others for keeping the towels on? At my in-laws, they fall off before you even turn around, so it's something I'm sensitive to....See MoreHow big are your bathroom towel bars and how did you dress them?
Comments (25)The towels look good hanging on the hooks, but it might help to see the actual hooks you're using. Teacats, I love the pictures in your bathroom. This mornings Gordman's ad shows the pictures of the ladies in dresses. The bathroom we're redoing is the main bath for the house and it seems to be on the formal side. I never know how rooms are going to end up they just seem to evolve during the remodeling process. It's really fun to see all these beautiful bathrooms, though. I love seeing all the different design styles!...See MoreRelated Professionals
