anyone know where to find floor mounted back to wall toilets?
Comments (7)Wall hung - they will sag. After talking extensively to UK plumbers and bathroom fitters who install wall hung all over the UK, they will not guarantee any work where the metal frame that hold the wall hung toilet is fixed to a wooden framed wall. IF it is in a corner, where there is less "give" they feel that is the best option, but unless these metal frames are fixed into either concrete walls or brick walls, there WILL be some give over time. They all say that if there is no brick or concrete wall option (as in my case - just stud walls) then standard back to the wall are best bet. Access difficult?? - no I do not think so. I have installed many of these in the UK and access is very easy to the cistern. It is all down to how the cistern is hid. With a bit of forethought it can all be made very accessible. All of the back to the wall toilets in the UK are SO cheap. Basic models start at 50 UK pounds - really cool ones start at around 150 uk pounds. I do not think I can even use them over in the US as they all have 4 inch soil/waste pipes. Are the USA waste pipes all 5 inch?...See MoreConverting Pull Chain Toilet to Standard Tank

Comments (17)The bathtub in my hall bath was "sinking" into the crawl space, and it was old and yucky anyway ... so we had it ripped out and replaced with an all-tile shower. 12x12 tiles on the walls, 2x2 tile on the floor, one shampoo niche, new sliding glass doors. Same size as the tub that was there before. New internal plumbing and plain shower head. No seat, no windows. We paid about $2600 ... that covered yanking out the old tub and surround and laying the tile. The handyman who did it gave me a list of what tile to buy, and I went and picked that myself -- and paid for it separately. That was another $250? Since we are prepping to sell in two years or so, I chose simple and neutral. If I'd chosen what I really like, my tile would've been more expensive. This was JUST the shower. He touched nothing else in the bathroom. My girls are thrilled with their new shower and don't miss the tub in the least. My regrets: I wish we'd had two niches put in -- the 12x12 niche holds a large pump-type bottle of shampoo and conditioner and a liquid soap ... but they also have body wash and shaving cream, and those things are sitting on the floor. And I wish I'd had them a hand-held fixture put in. That's easy enough to fix, we just haven't gotten around to it yet....See MoreInexpensive but reliable wall mounted toilet
Comments (5)Don't think so. Tank + toilet + wall mounted controls = $$$. we just did it and love it but $$$$( bought from Amazon Geberit + Toto). Also don't know about sewer systems, we are on septic, but a great space saver and looks super cool. Our house is contemporary, not sure if there are models that would look at home in a 1920's house....See MoreChristaM
