Like others have said, the 120V is slightly larger inside. It also has more pre-programmed recipes. I don't know how much of an issue that is. For me, I went with the extra speed, especially since I already had the second convection oven. If the new 240V had been available, I would have definitely considered it for the larger size (though I don't know the price difference... we got a great deal on our 240V Monogram), but it's not too hard to use 9x9 pans for most things in the our 240. Like I said above, if I was going with a rangetop, I'd get the Trivection, WD, and a 120V Advantium. I'd trade the extra speed for extra size / versatility. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I have one (the Pro because it doesn't have the black control panel). I haven't been happy with my speed ovening results so far (I don't work at it hard enough to really learn it, however--I've never cooked in a microwave, and speed cooked comes out too microwaved-seeming for my taste), but it's fine as a convection oven and is the best microwave I've ever used. It's easy to use as a microwave, but a bit weird. The biggest deal with any of this type is changing the glass tray for microwaving with the metal ones for speed or convection. If you're both mostly using it as a microwave (that is, your husband is microwaving daily and you're using it on convection as a second oven once a week or something), you can leave the glass tray in it, making it easier. A piece of advice I got here and heeded was to have a special drawer just for the Advantium trays and rack, right with the oven. That is, not combined with other trays, unless the Advantium bits get their own section, and not on the other side of the kitchen. That makes changing the trays no big deal. Otherwise, people tend just to use it as a microwave, which is a total waste. So, to microwave, put your item on the glass tray. Press "Express" and it starts microwaving right away, full power, 30 seconds on the timer. Once it's started you can turn the wheel to adjust the time to the second. Four seconds is kind of hard. That's probably easier to press Express then Stop after four seconds. For just about everything else turning the wheel is easy. If you want multiples of 30 seconds you can just press Express the right number of times (four and a half minutes equals nine taps of Express), or just turn the wheel. You can give it a good spin with the side of your hand and make a big change. The menu bits are more of a PITA. I've learned, for instance, that defrosting a frozen pretzel is a .3 lb of a bagel, which is easier than remembering how long to defrost a pretzel for. There are the "cook" settings which include "melt" and "soften", which work pretty well, and the "reheat" settings (which I don't use) which include common types like beverage and pizza, some of which use the sensor. With my new kitchen I have fewer microwaving needs. I remember once adjusting the power--perhaps from adapting one of the programmed settings, but I don't remember how I did that. I did adjust the power regularly on my 1990 Costco special, but with the Advantium I almost always use the Express. That's for melting cheese or reheating pasta more than anything else. Sometimes I melt for butter for baking. I have other, better, ways of doing a lot of tasks that people use a microwave for. The sensor works great on the things I've used it for, mostly popcorn and (bought that way) frozen peas. A warning you'll get is that microwaving reduces the longevity of the appliance, therefore a speed oven is an expensive way to go if you're mostly going to use it for a lot of microwaving. My need for the speed part decreased sharply with life changes that happened during my remodel, or I might have learned to love that part of the appliance as much as I had intended to. Even so, I'm very pleased with it. It does everything else I want it to, and does it well.

Malhgold, the cabinets are from Ultracraft in red birch with a Golden stain. I do not have the Trivection. The oven is the Monogram ZET1SLSS, which the OP was asking about way back when (but it wasn't installed yet when the question was first posted). I'm really happy with the oven. Seems to pre-heat quickly, love those full extension racks, and love the feel of the knobs (they click softly as you turn the dial). The display and the timer function is simple and intuitive. Baking seems very even, Fan reasonably quiet. Interior light illuminates the whole oven well, and stays on the whole time oven is running (you can't control the interior light). At first that bugged me, but now I realize that I am less likely to forget to turn the oven off when I am done. The Advantium has a steep learning curve, and at first I was not thrilled, but now that I am getting the hang of it, I am liking it much better. I re-heated garlic bread tonight with cheese on top, and it came out perfect! Fresh, crispy, restaurant quality. Better than my old toaster oven could do. It took 7-8 minutes, though. Not as speedy as I thought a speed oven would be. I suspect the 240 advantium is quicker. I guess I am just impatient. No pre-heat time required, so it was better than the big oven or broiler would have been for this task. I did frozen chicken tenders for the kids last night, and they were relatively quick (8 min I think), and came out great. The microwave only function is very easy to use - my favorite is the express start button. Hit it once and it starts, with 30 sec on the timer. Hit it again and it adds 30 sec increments. Or turn the dial after it starts to add or subtract time in any amount you want. Very easy! I also like the sensor re-heat feature. It tells you when your food is piping hot, but not burned - no guessing. As a plain microwave it is not as powerful as my old microwave - but not too bad. I really need to play with it some more. I find it a PITA to change the trays when going from speed cook to microwave, though. And the fan on the Advantium is fairly noisy. Minor annoyances. I picked the Monogram over the Profile just for looks. The handles matched my hardware better, and I liked the square face, not curved. Snowy, I was told the same thing, that the only diff betw the Monogram and Profile versions of the 120 advantium was the look (and the price!) Same appliance, different face. When we faced the "under counter" dilemma several years ago, we chose what Kitchenaid called the Ultima oven at that time for this very reason--the instructions allowed for undercounter installation. I'm not following the appliance innovations in this type of oven...but note that most people talk about the GE Advantium as the standard. Several years ago, it appeared to me that both the ultima and advantium were fine. The model number is The model is HBHS179 and its now called a convection microwave. I think there is a quartz heating element in the Kitchenaid product--but after looking at the website and the owners manual its not very clear to me. You may need to do a bit of research on this: its confusing what is in this product and how it relates to the Whirlpool products. The product has been useful to us--but we haven't had anything to compare to. I post the section below that I cut and pasted from the owners manual (current) that describes undercounter installation For undercounter installation, it is recommended that the junction box be located in the adjacent right or left cabinet. If you are installing the junction box on rear wall behind the microwave oven, the junction box must be recessed and located in the upper or lower right or left corner of the cabinet; otherwise, the microwave oven will not fit into the cabinet opening.
