well, I found something interesting,

now what do I do with it????

IT is a rectangular dome...like the cheese domes, but much finer glass and a rectangle shape...5"x3"x2 1/2" tall at the highest point. It really isn't tall enough to be very useful, but I thought I could do something with it....50 cents at the TS. The most amazing thing is the good quality of the glass and the fineness of design, but no chips or anything...who would be without???!!!!!!

Now what???....................

Sounds like it might be a butter dish cover. You know, for the ones that are sticks of butter. If you can't find a glass bottom for it, you could always cut a piece of wood to use as a base and maybe just put some silk flowers in it for display. So fun to run across pretty glass items at the TS--I always check that section too. Luvs

if it's clear glass, make a tiny holiday "scene" in it with miniature stuff to display safely.

I'm sorry to dissapoint you Edwin,but it turns out to be a somewhat conjested group of second year buds and is no different from its neighbor branches.The entire plant received a vigorous internal pruning and clean out in Dec. and the remaining exterior is visually enhanced.Its one of the more attractive mugos in this garden but still ranks behind Jacobsen to my eye.Thanks for your alertness.Doug

I found a lot of them interesting, but #7 was particularly interesting to me as I have an interest in what names come from and in the case of France surprising to me. We have an office in France and about half of my team is there and I don't think any of them are named Martin. Might be an anomaly though. Oh and my guess about the guy with the map is that he is from the Americas as if he was from Europe he would have been to other areas there and Africa as well. Laurie, how big is your room? Our living room is long and narrow, 23 x 12 and the sliding door and window are at opposite ends of the room. We put a double rod up to test different drapes with and the thin rod & small sized finials, were so small they looked out of proportion in our room. The larger sized rod is 1 1/4 inch and the larger round finial is about the size of a baseball. They give more presence over all and look like they'll be more proportionate for our room. My DH is putting them up as we speak, so tomorrow I can post a photo for you. Btw, I also brought home that adjustable rod from BB&B, it was junk and we opted not to go that route. In regards to the extenders if I remember correctly your windows were smaller than ours which is 57 inches across. If you buy a rod meant for the size of your window you won't need to worry about extenders as everything you'll need should already be provided in box.

weeeeeeeelllllllll, at this moment, it has a dolls teaset on it's doll sized tray under it!!! I do like Karen's idea, and think I will start with a fall arrangement in September! I tried putting my Charming Tails flag flyers under it, for 4th of July, but they are too tall!!! I measured it, and it is 3 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches. I can't imagine what it may have been in it's prior life...it's a bit big for butter unless it was a 1 lb. block...all one piece.

If you collect thimbells, they would look nice highlighted under the glass. At christmas you could display some of the tiny wooden ornaments from germany that comes in to TJMAX and Marshalls around Oct, Nov.

For a girly look, you could display a nice bracelet opened up under it on top of your bedroom dresser, even a few lovely rings lined up would be pretty. Collection of broaches, (cut a strip of velvet for the jewerly to lay on)...Basically anything tiny can be highlighted under glass...

Jaybird, Your glass dome sounds very pretty. Everyone has given you some good ideas for items to display in it. The tiny tea set sounds perfect with it. Congrats on finding such a nice goody.

I LOVE the bracelet idea....thank you Judith!!!! My DD makes jewelry and has made me a number of lovely bracelets. I also have quite a few of my grandmother's rings, so that would be cool too!!! Y'all are amazing!!
