Sanitize without clorox?
Comments (2)When I have to take our king-sized comforter to the laundromat, I run one of the big machines empty on hot with a double-dose of detergent (Charlie's) and a bunch of Lysol disinfectant (the small brown bottle, *not* the soapy cleaners) before I wash anything. That should clean out a lot of the bugs and goo and who knows what else!...See MoreDo you use liquid chlorine bleach in your laundry?
Comments (17)tecnopolis, it is true that the European washers have the option to do a profile wash and reach temperatures close to the boiling point of water. But, not nearly all fabrics can be washed on that cycle. Even at lower temperatures LCB is not added to kill bacteria. There are environmental and health concerns about the use of chlorine bleach. In Germany, ozone is used to treat drinking water instead of chlorine bleach. Ozone is as effective in killing germs and any traces of it can easily be removed by using UV light that splits the ozone and produces oxygen. Drinking water produced like this tastes and smells much better than water treated with chlorine bleach. The purity requirements for tab water in Germany are stricter than the requirements for bottled water since it has to be safe even if consumed in large amounts. There is also no addition of fluorides in Germany. If you drink lots of water you may get much more flouride than recommended. If you look it up you'll find that that one is a controversial subject even in the US. Don't just assume that everything the government allows or does is also save for your health or the environment!...See Morecomposite deck / bleach mold cleaning recommendations negligent
Comments (10)Yo Ken, if your still around your up on this one. Far as Composites go I am with the Larry/whoever We are for the most part. Composites are really no longer using recycled material because there is just not enough of it so most of the raw stuff is virgin, the energy used to make composite is an enviro no no, when its time to remove the project composite is not real big on bio degrade its tricky to burn shreading it would be silly. Bottom line composites are not so enviro freindly. Info like that might suggest its not all that good to clean it either, with anything. I dont agree>> composites will out last Ipe, left to go silver/gray Ipe is as close to no maintance as a person can get. With the softer composites like Choice/MoistureShield even trex= tjunk I have found a coat or two of TWP 116 seals up the decking, locks in the color and keeps mold, mildew, stains from causing major problems. Of course not needing to do this is the reason the Wallet goes for composite in the first place. I my own self dont like composites at all for the reasons stated in several posts here and on other sites. Welcome aboard Larry!!! Sorry I dident understand your intent at the begining . Comments (185)I HATE this product. It causes too much aggravation. I just "chatted" with a Lysol agent and it went no where fast and then dropped the chat. From their own web site...these directions don't make any sense. "For Laundry Sanitizer Directions: For High Efficiency / Front Load Machines: Add 2 CAPFULS each filled to line 2 of the dosing cup to the fabric softener compartment or directly to your rinse cycle wash. For Standard Machines: Add 2 CAPFULS each filled to line 1 of the dosing cup to the fabric softener compartment or directly to your rinse cycle wash. To Sanitize: Add to rinse cycle and leave product in rinse cycle for 16 minutes. Not intended to be mixed with laundry detergents in the main wash compartment. Use this product in the rinse cycle exclusively. Can be used on most washable fabrics. Not intended for use on silk or wool. Do not use on materials that cannot be washed in washing machines. ††Pre-Soak Disinfection Directions: Pour two capfuls each filled to line 1 into 1 gallon of cold water. Submerge completely and soak items for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water or machine wash as directed. Not intended to be mixed with laundry detergents in the main wash compartment. Use this product in the rinse cycle exclusively. Can be used on most washable fabrics. Not intended for use on silk or wool. Do not use on materials that cannot be washed in washing machines." Two CAPFULS each filled to either line 1 or 2 WHAT??? Is it 2 Capfulls or 2 doses filled to line 1 or 2. This makes no sense. It CAN NOT be mixed with DETERGENT "Not intended to be mixed with laundry detergents in the main wash compartment." " Use this product in the rinse cycle exclusively." Yet you have to use it in the final rinse and it has to remain in the clothes for 16 minutes. Meaning you would have to pause the washer because there is no machine in the world that does a final rinse for 16 minutes (mine is 3 or 4 minutes max). This product is a waist of time, money, effort. The instructions make no sense. Please people, don't waste your time or money on this pointless product....See Moresheilajoyce_gw
