Easter Table (pic)

Wishing you all a blessed Easter. We're hosting dinner for 11 at two tomorrow. We're having: beet soup, Honey Baked Ham, roast lamb, roast beef, scalloped potatoes, green beans, asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce, rolls....and for dessert a Williamsburg Orange Cake (it's DH's birthday!)

We're eating in the sunroom where there's more room for all the gang:

What a yummy sounding dinner and pretty table! For the first time in many years we are going out to a restaurant to eat tomorrow. Just too many people in the family are sick or cannot make it. Although I will really miss the big ham dinner, it will be nice to relax!

Happy Easter, Bonnie. I hope you and your family/friends have a wonderful meal together, your tables look really nice, I'm sure everyone will enjoy them. Happy birthday to your DH as well.

Thanks for your gracious comments, Holiday-ers! candy...yup, I'm hooked on "teapots" now, too (not "teakettles," as I said)...love the 'Enablers R Us' group here! Marylee & Frou & PM...my Mom has to be smilin' down on me about dressin' Babydoll!(& she does have cute toes & fingers...even tho they feel like plastic. I've enjoyed decorating w/her so much since coming to this Forum...will pass on to DH shelf compliments. The ceramic baby chicks I got after Spring sale at a local specialty consignment shop. punk...I bought that column (table post or whatever) for $10 at another CShop ...it was stained that color & my Mother Hen is wood from HLobby...had her for a few yrs now & seemed a perfect match! There is a nail sticking in the column for candles. jane & pat & nana...those brown bunnies called to me...I bought them over 2 or 3 yrs at another specialty CS...I leave them out for summer usually, too. Ever since I've seen party-music's wonderful hand-made baskets I am on the outlook for them! LOL...hope to see some more BOP pics...SMILING is good! Thanks again, everyone! Jeanne, she is just precious. What a sweeeeet picture. She's the cutest of the little chicks. I could have a dozen little ones and love every minute of it. I had so much fun with DGD this weekend. We took her to several parks so she could do the monkey bars. Her little hands have lg blisters but she can't get enough going across those. Her challenge is to see how many rings she can skip. HA, to be young again. She wanted a new Baby Alive yesterday. So I asked her if she wanted me to buy it for her for Easter. She said 'no, not if it's for Easter in such an innocent voice.' So guess you know she got it right then. She's so spoiled and doesn't even know it. Thanks for sharing this priceless picture. Punk

Jeanne, very tastefully decorated and looks like you can leave it all out for awhile. One of my hydrangeas is coming back so hopefully I'll be able to dry some one of these years. Your tulips are way ahead of mine. Ours grew alot this past week in between snow storms and sun tho. Jane, red tulips are the only ones the deer don't care for at DD's!LOL She finally quit planting the other colors for this reason. Adorable picture...I also had one of those red hats when I was a little cowgirl. DM use to make all of our fancy western shirts growing up. Most of the time we wore Levis and cowboy boots too. Hope you get better every day. Several have bronchitis and whooping cough around here. I'm blaming our weather for this! One has to wear layers to be comfortable these days. Thanks, holiday-ers...yes, I am doing better each day (DH, too)...coughing is not gone, but much less, thank goodness! I want to get outside in the gardens...but weather must co-operate, too! jane, yes, this is a 3-season porch & we have a little electric stove heater that we can use & open up the sliding doors to the DR when GK's come home to play! We love the porch...it's almost as old as house...40 yrs. ranch style ...but finished off inside, carpeted cement floor, paneled & replaced windows in the last 10 yrs. or so. And, yes, Jane, that single pc of Depression glass is all I have from G'ma's...it is pretty...I must look up the pattern name again...it has pink glass spoon, too. (can't remember if I added that later?) Thanks, Marylee... & yes, Purplemoon, that totem does look like a bird bath...I got the 2 glass birds at StVincentDPaul, the heavy aqua glass dish at a GS & the 1 pc bottom at HLobby...when I made it. luvs, punk & nana...Dollbaby can be a pistol, all right! Yeah, now she wants to be out there playing, too! Glad you enjoyed her. And the "door" cabinet is my fav pc out there...just an original & reminds me of my sis' old farm house. Thanks, holiday-ers! Bonnie, it looks like you are set up for a really lovely dinner. You have a lot of room to spread out. I can imagine the scene coming to life, when the diners take their places at the table. Have a lovely time. - Gail

Thanks all. Lynn, my MIL made the soup and our 3 DD's made their Dad's birthday cake. We had such a good time!

Lovely looking table, looks so crisp and fresh with the white tablecloths. Are they both the same? I often buy 2 or more of the same in case I have to do a set up like you. It is not always easy to put two different shaped tables together "seamlessly" but you have managed to do a wonderful job. You menu sounds delicious!

Thanks so much DD. We have a few different options when hosting a big crowd. Sometimes we move the kitchen table out into the sunroom, and that accomodates an even larger group!

Yes, the tablecloths are the same. I frequently buy 2 of each because we have large groups so often. For the same room, I have a couple of vinyl sets that are spunky and colorful.......and SO easy!

White tablecloths are my all time favorite, coupled with crisp Irish linen napkins. I like classic looks.
