Comments (20)Sooooo glad to run across this, used bar keepers friend on a dry toothbrush and just a few rubs and it came out, perfectly!! Comments (3)We also have that in our well. I'm afraid your best bet would be to put a water treatment in your system. If you can't afford that, and I can understand cause I've been there, you could invest in a bottle of iron out and periodically spray down the stuff that normally turns red and give it a good rinsing. The bad news is that the iron from your water will probably stick to even sealed materials. You can use a masonry sealer to make it easier to clean, but in my experience there is nothing that will keep it from sticking to whatever the water lands on. As the water evaporates, the iron in the water will simply stay there. I'm sorry I couldn't give you better news, I hope this helps some. peanutmom...See MoreHow do you remove stains on concrete pool?
Comments (4)It is not uncommon to need to drain and acid wash the entire pool. This is a common service requirement for concrete pools. There is however risk in draining a concrete pool so if you are not familiar with how, and when, to do this safety then contact a local concrete pool expert who can assist you with this. When acid washing the pool you do not wat to use too strong of an acid or it will pull the cement from the plaster leaving the surface layer rough. Hope this info is helpful. Comments (2)We have rust from well water here so I use The Works. Cost is about a $1.00 at Dollar General more in the grocery store or Walmart. You might have to do two applications (just let it dry) then wipe it down with clear water. If you can still see some red then apply some bleach diluted with a little water (water helps it to not evaporate so quickly). Good luck on selling your house!! We should be listing ours shortly too!
