36 inch AG wolf

Just for the record my Wolf still blows up in my face. Been replaced a few times. The last range was installed 6 months ago. Any one have problems with the newer wolf ag ranges.

Could you please describe what you mean by "blows up in your face." Are you talking about the oven, the burners, what exactly? What did Wolf say about it? When did you buy your range? Your experience with all of this would be very helpful to those of us who are trying to decide . . .

From the very little you've described, it sounds like a gas line problem, not the Wolf range problem. Since you said "Been replaced a few times"(I am assuming you mean the range has been replaced, though you don't say what exactly has been replaced), and you continue to have the problem, it is not the range, it's something outside the range. I am amazed at Wolf customer service, that they would replace a range several times--most companies wouldn't do that.

The Wolf Df bakes beautifully and you can fill it and everything will bake evenly. It is a fabulous oven. Unfortunately my oven started with the blue enamel chipping at a little over 4 years of age. It is out of warranty. After back and forth with Wolf the most they will do is pay a small portion of labor and supply the part. The labor starts at $800 with no cap and they will only warranty the part for a year. With their ongoing issues, I don't want to do that. Some have been through multiple ovens. This has been an ongoing issue with Wolf and they did replace ovens that did this even four years out. No longer do they do this. The new wall ovens have replaceable bottoms to make them cheaper to repair. The ranges do not. Before this happened I was a huge fan of the Wolf Df. When I bought it they told me I would not need an extended warranty because Wolf would stand behind it. This is no longer the case. I too am looking to replace it with something that bakes as well. Search blue chipping on this forum.

Depending on how dirty our burner pans are when I'm doing a "real" cleaning (and not just a spray and wipe), I'll either scrub w/ BKF (and a little Palmolive) and a blue scrub sponge or spray the pans first with Dawn Power Dissolving Gel, let sit 15-30 min, and then scrub/rinse in the sink. I find it helpful (to prevent or cut down on smudging) to rinse w/ hot water and then dry the pans right away (I use our regular dishtowels--the Ritz/Flemish Wonder Towel). Sticky, sugary spills (e.g. cranberry sauce) seem to be the toughest to remove, but eventually I can get most or all of the spots off the surface. Our burner pans (and grates and burner rings) don't look brand new, but they look pretty good IMO--used, but decently-maintained (our AG range is a 2008; it was also a replacement Wolf from the burner issue "era"). For spot cleaning, I was using Perfect Kitchen (from BB&B), but lately have been using alcohol-water (w/lavender oil) in a spray bottle along with my trusty microfiber cloth or sometimes a piece of paper towel (Brawny, FWIW). I am very careful using alcohol on the range, and of course, make sure all burners are off and remain off while using it. HTH.

I love my 36" Blue Star RNB range with grill. The big oven is great and bakes beautifully. The broiler is fantastic although small. I don't use it very often because I find myself using the grill instead for most things I would otherwise use a broiler for. The oven takes a good 20 minutes to get to temperature so I plan around it. I love the fact that there are no electronics to break, no self-clean, no clock, nothing. Some people might miss all the different oven functions that electrics have, but it don't. The fan can be a bit loud. The powerful burners are also gorgeous to look at and easy to clean. The simmer burner is fabulous. The grill is great. Some people think it does not get hot enough but I don't find that at all. I heat it for 20 minutes and it does a steak beautifully. While sometimes I wish I would have had room for a 48", mostly because it would be nice to have a couple of extra burners and the real estate they would provide, I am not sure that I would have been totally happy with an 18" oven as my only other oven. I am actually happy with the 36" because I have the giant oven plus a 24" electric oven (Miele speed oven). I actually think that is a perfect combo in my small space. I think the 48" would have looked disproportionately large in my space. I use the Miele for baking small things. The BS is one of the best things about my kitchen. Is it perfect? No. But it's pretty close.

Am a BS enthusiast. Am delighted to have cast iron top and find it far easier to keep it looking nice. Mine has the old fashioned pull out drip catcher tray... And I don't mind that. So much if the clean up I was doing before shine surfaces becomes unnecessary...and the grates become cured, soft sheen, just like a well cared for Lodge fry pan . have a 22yr old SubZ refrig 501 series I think, all refrig, 32 or 36". Still runs very well tho had to invest $800 3 yrs back. .... And in an upcoming remodel have to decide what to buy Frankly I am not happy with the new Subzeros. Four separate service company techs have commented on "the don't make 'em to last anymore'. At 2 and 3x the price of liebherr, I installed liebherr over subzero 5 years ago in a family cottage kitchen remodel. Am very satisfied with the Liebherr Best of luck

Yes, indeed, Wolf will replace a range a few times while a problem continues and they can't figure out how to fix it. And then they'll just throw their hands up and write a cheque.

Yeah, but Keitel, they do get to the bottom of it and in short order, unlike Bluestar, who seems to answer the phone most enthusiastically prior to purchase. I remember your problems, and a few others, but reports on those issues don't seem to be coming in for current owners. Wolf is good about tinkering with their design to iron out issues.

I agree - they're a totally different company. I would also assume that they've fixed the problem and while it was occurring they were incredibly accessible even if they didn't know what to do. In the end, after an enormous amount of my time wasted while they "tinkered" in my kitchen, they did exactly what a customer would want when they realized that they couldn't actually solve the problem.

In the same vein as Bluestar, it's frustrating that companies put out products with massive pricetags that have significant short-comings on the most basic of functions. After that, I guess the companies begin to separate based on what they do abou it.
