Does this look right to you?
Comments (2)Yeah, I looked at the Spaghetti Sauce recipe and this doesn't use as many tomatoes, yields 2/3 the amount, uses more low-acid ingredients (well, maybe, I don't know how to trade off the mushrooms vs the garlic) so I don't even know if the NCHFP pressure canning process is appropriate here. No way this could be BWB, I said to myself. Should I look for a way to contact the site admin? I'm not sure if they took it right from BH&G, maybe there was a mixup with another recipe and BH&G had a PC time? If not, then SB may want to take it off their site. I'm disappointed b/c after malna (?) said that the owner of the site was a MFP (on green tomato pasta sauce thread I think it was) I figured I'd found a good safe site for recipes, I even bookmarked some, copied some. I haven't tried any yet though....See MoreTile crisis! Does this look right to you??
Comments (35)thanks for the input - very helpful in making our decision. Ultimately, we decided to keep it. Actually, when we returned the materials to the tile shop, we were informed that the materials we previously thought was Carrara was not Carrara - it was just a batch of Calacatta marble with quite a bit of gray in it. The rep told us that honing the marble (we bought honed marble for the floors) takes a lot of the gold out of it. So we opted for the polished floors with much less gray. The paint is going to be a light gray, so the niche tiles will pick up the paint and play off of them. I chose the different shaped tiles (mini bricks, subway and hexagonals) to give it some design interest - this was all modeled after a spa in Santa Barbara with the same layering of different shaped marble. Perhaps from the close up photo it does look a bit "busy", but everything else in the room is very simple (ie, white Caesarstone counters) so the tile doesn't read that "busy" in context. Gotta put the kids to bed so i can't respond individually, but thanks to all for the input and advice! cheers, Pip...See MoreBathroom tile: Does this look right to you?
Comments (3)That doesn't look like a bench. It looks like a tub. See the spout on the left to fill the tub? Frankly this tile job looks pretty good to me. I'm not seeing what you're trying to explain, but then again, I'm no expert. Your window is not centered so either they centered the tile which they did or they centered it on the window. I think they made the right choice. Of course that does beg the question of what they used for waterproofing. :)...See MoreReality check for me, does this tile job look bad to you?
Comments (34)Today he sent the punch list back with comments and wrote, "Tiles are hand made and grout/caulk lines cannot be consistent due to the way the tiles are manufactured". Just my 2 cents... Integrity issues are where I draw a hard line in these types of arrangements. I am typically willing to make many sacrifices to keep a project moving forward including bearing some of the costs that I rightly shouldn't have to bear and occasionally accepting less than perfect results. However, when a contractor starts lying to me or threatening to quit are things I draw the line at right quick. As for seeing an attorney in these situations, I often advise people to see their attorney to help get a handle on negotiations and legal rights. However, this is not likely a situation that you are going to want to resolve through your attorney. Use your attorney to advise what you should do, and maybe get him to send a demand letter, but don't try to use your attorney to resolve this situation. This is the way a good attorney should direct you anyway. Good luck...See MoreUser
