Yes, the vaulted ceiling will extend into the kitchen (on the other side of the wall circled) so we will continue the wood on the ceiling into the kitchen which is currently a 8’ flat ceiling. Also, I forgot to mention this is Not my furniture! ( This is the seller’s photo from Zillow -all our things are still packed up since the Reno begins in Jan, we never even unpacked. We will be living in a rv during the process, we just purchased yesterday. )

Hang a tall, vertical art work in colors and a subject you like that will tie into your furnishings. Hang it over a tallish console table on open legs. Do think about hanging a large art work on the dining wall, which can also be viewed as you walk in the door. And, yes, install floor-to-ceiling shelves to flank the fireplace. Are you planning to pull up carpeting? Even if you're not, consider a layered runner from the front door to the wall in question. This creates a "pathway" into the space and towards the art, dining, and living areas. Oh, and remove all the clutter on the paneling on the side of the fridge. You could also put a piece of art there, but probably it's better to leave it blank.

The elephant in the room is a table shape & size that just doesn't work. You need something smaller, or square or round. I really dislike those signs that are so popular now...unless they're authentic, vintage AND suit the demeanor of the room. Your "bakery" sign is long & narrow & pushed off to the side of the wall. It looks awkward there & should be hung on a smaller wall. Is that your kitchen with the "antiques" sign over the bulkhead? I think that sign might look good on dining area wall. Remove that foliage from the light fixture. No tablecloth.

I was thinking of painting the inside a dark color that picks up on the bricks. You could also add a trellis and plant vines and perennials in the planter.
