Help, what to do with the blank wall in living room with high ceilings
Comments (4)Decorating happens where the people live. Lots of folks are closing in those massive open rooms and making a media room upstairs. Heating a wasted space isn't always all its cracked up to be. There is plenty going on below that space - in fact, a little to much, IMO. I don't get those blocky built-ins. They are just too chunky and country looking for your stylish architecture.Remove them and install lighted glass shelves with a marvelous collection of something you love - vintage silver pieces, art glass, or an interesting collection to keep the eyes in the people part of the room....See Morewhat to do with this huge blank wall!!
Comments (14)Bingo! Just what I thought. So, here's some thoughts for furniture arrangement. Place the love seat on the wall where the sofa is now and place the sofa facing the tv/fireplace. I can't tell how close to put the sofa to the love seat, but I think using the ottoman in front of the sofa is a better placement. Now, with the smaller seating on the wall, you can have a narrow shelf/sofa table behind the love seat for a couple of lamps and décor. Another option is to place the love seat on the window wall and use a sofa table behind it. Adding a bit of color and texture can bring it all together. Any of this of interest? I would have to see the pieces arranged before I could offer any more suggestions....See MoreWhat to do with blank wall space?
Comments (15)Are you saying the sofa extends across part of the doorway? If so, I woulds uggest you move the sofa to a solid wall wide or long enough to provide a backdrop for the sofa and place a smaller or narrower piece of surniture against the narrow wall. I believe the colorful artwork looks wonderful, and it seems to be the correct scale for the sofa....See MoreWhat should I do with this blank space next to fireplace?
Comments (16)I vote for cushions on the ledge. We find that they are great auxilliary seating when we entertain a group. Also one of the large sculptures or a bold black and white piece of art ....See MoreRelated Professionals
