Nice haul! ;~) I love the colors of your new dishes. They are going to be so much fun for you to just look at and just think of the colorful tables you can set. I can see using several different items in the bowls for a tablescape. Floating candles and/or floating flowers, especially in your bright colors would look very nice. (Our DT had some lime tea light candles. I haven't tried it, but heard if you take them out of the tin holders they will float)
Or maybe your faux veggies? Or even real fruits? And if you don't find anything that matches the Pier 1 dishes I can see the plate on a plate holder with the 2 bowls in front, one stacked inside the other so the colored rims will show and your choice of what to put in the bowl.
I see your green tray in one of your pics with a candle sitting on it and it looks perfect. I also love the lemons in your big glass stem.

Here are my weekend finds...everything in the picture I got at wegmans during my weekly grocery shopping trip. Dishes are melamine and glassware is plastic as well. I like the colors and it'll look great out on the patio this summer...:) {{gwi:1418607}}

Tamgypsy, I can't believe you bought everything in your pic at Wegman's. And the stems of the glasses match the flatware! So, so cute! I love everything. Is that a plate and a salad plate? Wow, it looks terrific! Very, very attractive.

sandi...yes it is a dinnerplate and a salad plate...they also had wooden saladbowls...but those were $6 a piece...I am hoping to find them somewhere else a little cheaper...
That is what I love about wegmans dishes...they put up the display and it has everything coordinating displayed...the glassware, flatware, linens, candles and you can just pick and choose...and with the melamine it is actually not as expensive as regular dishes...they also currently have a display of red, white and blue lighthouse/coastal theme melamine dishes...with little lanterns...little crab and lobster decorations etc.....I am tempted but I am truly starting to run out of room...

Tamgypsy, It's a good thing there is no Wegman's near me. I wouldn't have a bite to eat after buying their tablesettings! LOL The red, white and blue sounds very cute also. Remember the "wooden" salad sets of years ago? I haven't seen any of them for sale in quite awhile though. I'm sure someone else on here will be able to help you find some wooden bowls, but your dishes are so versatile you have several options to use with salad bowls.
I'm out of room also until DH builds my shelves.

Tam, wonderful set up, you will be dining outside like a queen, and not have to worry about anything getting broken! Good thing, I guess that I don't have that store here, I KNOW I would be broke!!

I have nothing to show...as I said DishPoliceman was driving and wouldn't let me stop at the yard sale we passed. And Yachter they had a nice Boston Whaler at the yard sale...very common here, you can pick up a boat AND some dishes!

Yachter, your plates are really pretty. I love the swirl design in them. I think a tablesetting with mixing and matching of the colors would look so cute. Love your tray too--the candle is perfect, and you could even add some small rocks or those pretty half marbles to it.

Tam, that store is just amazing. I would never be able to go grocery shopping there--we would starve! I'd be spending all the money on all the other goodies with nothing left to buy food. LOL

I have been seeing allot of melamine recently. Homegoods really had allot of it, so did Big Lots and even Dollar Tree. The items at Homegoods were as expensive as the glass plates would be. For some reason, I expected the melamine to be less.

Enjoy your dishes ladies, and thanks for sharing. I didn't buy any goodies last week, maybe I will get out and find something this week.

Yachter, You got some great buys! The colors are very pretty and have a 'happy' feel to them. So nice and colorful. I like the lemons on display also, I'm trying to think if I have a glass container to do that! :)

I second what everyone else has already said. Happy Colors! And the swirl design is very appealing to me. Its going to be so much fun decorating with those and many possiblities. I guess it's good for me there's no Wegmans here either. I get in enough trouble now thanks to you guys.

Tam, you WIN this weeks "goodies" thread IMO! Wow, how great is that to have a store that puts together the entire tablesetting & then sells each piece!! I want a WEGMANS!! That setting is really sharp looking!!

Ok, I just couldn't stand not posting today. Tho actually its 10 min after midnight, so I'm a wee bit late. LOL. Since I haven't been able to unpack and take pix of my Dollar store dish finds from late last week, I decided to share this tiny purchase with you. I won the bone dishes on eBay I was bidding on. No one else bid thank goodness, got the set of six for $10. Plus darn shipping! I chose this set to bid on because it's from the 1920s and I love OLD stuff.
And am hoping the milk-glass will go with various settings.

Karen, Your milk glass bone plates are so pretty. Congrats on winning the bid. I know you will enjoy using them very much.

Those will be really versatile--for more than just bones. Perfect size and shape for condiments on taco night, or candies or peanuts at a party too. I really like the ruffled edge on them Karen--and the fact that they are old just makes them all the more special. Luvs

Bone Dishes~I think they make interesting dessert plates too. They'd even be great is "individual" cheese and fruit platters.
