I guess a bargain pretty much depends on where you buy your plants. As for me I buy a lot of my plants on the LA and always check the prices of closed auctions before I bid, so I have a general idea of what the plant is going for. For instance 'Azure Violets' recently sold on the LA for $22.00 DF and $52.00 DF, and most other sites I checked out had it listed for $18 - $24.....so to me $12.60 is a bargain. Northwind Dancer is selling at Marietta Gardens for $75.00....I was outbid on the LA at $60.00, and other sites have it listed at $50 to $60 so (TO ME) getting it for less than $36 is a deal. I passed on buying 'Ginny Mitchell' there because even with the %30 off I felt the price was way too high. Again....I guess it depends on what you are looking to buy. A bargain to one person isn't always a bargain to another. Compared to the LA and some other sites I frequent I feel I got some pretty good bargains. JMHO

You could contact them and find out the height of the crib at the 'head'. It appears to be a single board and regardless of whether it is c.1840 or later, if the cradle is typical size, that is a Wide board.

My BEST deal was responding to an e-mail from a spa locally for a buy one get one free gift certificate (buy a 450 and get a $50 for free) and then learning that I was the first to respond so they gave me a $100 gift certificate! I got a facial yesterday and two more scheduled in late February and then again in April. THe way cabinet pricing works is that a manufacturer has a "list" price. No one pays list price. Every dealer discounts from list price. Where the dealer location is in relation to the factory has to do with how much discount off of list you receive, as the "free shipping" that is sometimes advertised isn't free. Maybe you pay 56% off of list rather than 58% off of list. The larger volume the dealer does, the larger discount off of list they can afford to give. It's about volume pricing--just like the box stores are about volume pricing. Either way, I would approach someone like that warily. There comes a point in discounting off of list below which a regular dealer knows they can't go and still stay in business. After all, they have to pay their employees and keep the lights on. Depending on their history and volume, the "normal" discount on many brands is around 60% off. Most dealers who go below that amount are either newbies trying to make a dent in the net ordering world, or folks who don't have good business sense of what it actually takes to survive long term in the cabinet business. Either way, long distance ordering puts the burden of the correctness of the design/install on the one ordering. That's a BIG burden for most homeowners to shoulder. My "average" cabinet orders for an "average" kitchen run 20 pages or more. You really have to know the cabinet line spec book and how to do installs to be able to order a kitchen correctly. It's a LOT more than just "boxes" screwed to a wall. Any novice can design a basic box plan. That's 10% of the work of designing a kitchen. The 90% is knowing how to finish off the sides, where a filler has to be used, where moldings need to be and what moldings those are as well as a host of other small details There are many many options that a semi custom cabinet line has that have to be decided upon before an order can be placed, and unless there is a pro involved on the job site, or this is a very very simple order, things are likely to not go well.
