Kathleen, I'll have to ask her. I think I've gotten her hooked on the Christmas Tree Shop, though! Gosh, I wish we had their shop here, too.
I've been busy myself but, alas, no new Easter decs . . . yet! Emily's birthday is the 18th, so I think my St. Paddy's Day table will be minimal. I've gotten more dishes, an old silver serving piece, a vintage Christmas dec, a vintage fireplace fan for the family room fireplace, new (much needed!)coverlet, bedskirt and pillow covers for the MBR and, of course, birthday gifts for my almost-fifteen year old. I need to take some pics when things settle down a bit. Of course, all were at great bargain prices (except the bedskirt).

I love all the new Easter stuff. Loved the tree. I could think of a lot of things to do with it (which, of course, helps to justify purchasing it).

And those cabbage placemats were calling my name. I put my hands over my ears, but I don't know if I'll be able to hold out much longer.

LOL, Old Algebra what good will putting your hands over your ears do???? Better put them over your eyes, gal!

Lots of pretties there. The trees are really neat. Love the birdsnests and basket too.

I've got a few St. Pat's decorations up, but not sure I'll do a table. If I do it will be just like last years since I have not bought anything new for one.

I am wanting some corned beef though, and our favorite diner is having it all next week! OA, have you tried Richie's Diner at the south end of Victoria Gardens? We love their shrimp basket, and the staff there are really friendly.

Really nice things. I am always going to start a container of grass growing to display Easter items on. I could just see that little sheep pulling the bunnies in the egg cart, nestled on a bed of new grass.

I really must remember to do that grass thing this year. I hope hubby has some grass seed somewhere.

Ok... I'm reading all the posts about new purchases...WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!!!

Now why did you have to show that site? I guess it is my fault for opening this thread. The first thing I saw was the snow bunny, so cute but I am not going to spend $89. Then I see the bunnies with the basket and they are on sale. I have been looking all over for bunnies that are either white or brown. I do have to order them now. I also have to keep watch for when the other bunny gets cheaper.

Richie's Diner? No, we haven't eaten there. In fact, I can't even remember seeing it. But then, I can't see past WS and the Pottery Barn.
I love any kind of sea food and now that it's Lent, we'll surely give it a try. Thanks for the heads up.

OA, Richie's is south of the main shopping area down close to Foothill where the gas station and some of the fast food places are. It's sort of a 50's type place. The shrimp is delicious, not heavily breaded either. Hope you will like it. Let me know if you discover any neat places too.

DD50, I know the feeling! This place makes me want things I wouldn't have even known I wanted! LOL Sure fun seeing new items and ideas, isn't it? I think I have too many bunnies already. My now retired DH sat in our living/dining room one day and counted 11 items that were either bunnies or had bunnies on them! I told him that "bunnies just multiply". LOL

Jane, are you enjoying the warmer weather? Or starting to miss home? Glad you will get to be home for Easter.

Luvs...Yes, I'm enjoying the warmer weather..but I'll be happy to get home..I am home sick.
We've been enjoying the beach every chance we can..just sitting and watching the ocean. (me in the shade) I've got Lupus and sun is a no-no for me. When we leave here, it will be just about when the Humidity really kicks in here. I don't do well with humidity. >> Then there are the violent Thunderstorms. This area is the Lightening Capital, and I don't do well in Tunderstorms either! LOL

Lynn, thanks for sharing those great Easter decor pics and catalogue links - so fun to look at. It is really making me want to get my spring/Easter decorations out but we are getting a foot of snow tonight so my spring mood is a bit dampened to say the least! What a March we are having! I thought it was bad last year when Easter was so early on March 23rd but the weather this year is making it seem just the same.

The thing I like about thess websites is that, if you're not up to shelling out the (sometimes) big buck for an item, you can at least be inspired to look for an alternative locally. I love my local Hobby Lobby for that reason. I love the Spring tree, but know I can make one for next to nothing and just buy some birds nests to use in it. I have to make another replacement tree this year anyway, as DS accidentally broke off many branches on mine while cleaning the garage a while back.

DG: I just KNEW you were going to like that Irish fairy!

DD: a foot of snow? OMG! Most of last week it was unseasonally warm here, and then on Friday we had rain, sleet, hail and snow! It's been a weird winter!
Hope your snow melts as quickly as ours did. It was gone by Saturday morning.

Jane, I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Florida and that warm weather! We'll be heading there ourselves (Tarpon Springs on the Gulf) the Thursday before Easter. I'm ready for some beach time myself . . . and some seafood!

NCnana, your idea of using real grass in a centerpiece sounds wonderful . . . what a great idea! I have something similar to that sheep pulling the egg cart in my Easter decs. I may try that myself, although we won't even be here this year for Easter. Hmmmm . . . .

Bright, I know, I know . . I need to take some pics of all my new stuff. Maybe today, as DD is back to school; DH is back to work and it looks like DS is traveling someplace other than home for his Spring Break.

I am actually going to do an Easter brunch since my mom and sister's family will be visiting at that time. They are complete vegetarians though and dont eat eggs, so I am stumped for menu ideas. But, thanks to you, not for decorations. :)

I'll share my - Tarpin Springs - memory..
I was there with DH and my two BILs and SILs..
We were looking around one of the shops, when all of a sudden I had the 'urge' to go to the BR..and knowing my history..they all started to taunt me..rather than help me find a BR.
I stopped to ask this little old lady, who looked like she worked in the store. I didn't realize she was a little senile. She gave me this big smile and hug, and started talking to me, like she knew me. I didn't want to be rude and brush her off, so I smiled politely and listened. Then I started doing a my 'wiggle' dance. As she rambled on, I noticed in the background, my BILs..making faces and mimicking my 'wiggle dance'. Of course, this made me start to laugh uncontrolably..which, of course led me to ...You guessed it. So there went my SILs, running around finding clothes to buy for me to change into!! (by the way the little old lady was the owner's mother)...
Funny, how I 'connect' my trips to these 'Special Events'..
I don't do well on trips!! ... lol

Too funny, Jane! I'll bet I know exactly the store you were in, too! The shopping area down at the Sponge Docks? I ran into a VERY talkative little old Greek lady there last time we visited Mom & Dad. She was the owner's mother and very sweet, but you just can't get away from her! Did the store sell a variety of Greek things, and lots of embroidered and /or lace tablecloths, runners and napkins, too?
Anyhoo, your story is so funny. I'm just glad you had your SILs to find some decent clothes for you.

Wooohooo Lynn..I think you've got the store right. It was down at the Sponge Docks...and she was a little old Greek lady..but then I think they're ALL Greek there!! lol

WOW!! I actually know the area you two are talkin about!! Spent 17yrs living in St Petersburg... mom lives in Palm Harbor. I went to Tarpon Springs just to buy a big ole bag of sponges for painting!! Still have some.

Well, we'll be shopping at The Sponge Docks in just a few weeks; I'll check and see if she's there . . . but won't mention why ;^P
I definitely WON'T get into another conversation with her this time, though! Gosh, now you've got me dreaming of Greek food and the fabulous smells that hit you just walking into one of those restaurants there! We usually eats at Pappas at least once while we're there, but enjoy the smaller mom-and-pop places, too.
