Lynn, Bet this was a BIG surprise. This is interesting and will we be able to see your home's exterior in a series maybe? You'll have to let us know more when you find out more. I can understand not wanting this all the time.

I would love to have palm trees in my yard for the summer but they wouldn't last long in the winter. I really like the looks of palms. I'll bet your right they are going to prttray the scene. Won't that be fun if you pick up on it and know the difference? Good laugh if nothing else.

Well, for your sake, I hope it's only for a few days. I'm always in awe when it come to film crews and the scenery guys. Once we were out for a walk in early spring and suddenly came upon two or three houses covered with snow. Never did find out who or what the series/movie was all about, but it sure was fun looking at all the fake snow.

Hey, will they need any extras ?Maybe you can get a walk by part.

OMG Oldalgebra, how funny to see something like that! I saw a short feature story recently on the fake snow business. It was fascinating . . . and very profitable!

Punk: no, I don't think I'll be able to see my house, except perhaps in a shot panning the surrounding area. The house they're shooting at yesterday is on a hill above my house . . . but I WILL be looking, just in case ;^D

Too funny that they are using your location--and bringing in palm trees to try to make it look like somewhere else! That's the movie industry for you. It is kind of fun just knowing you have movie stars roaming around your area--at least until they start blocking traffic and messing up your normal routine! LOL

Palm trees? Heck, they could have taken all the ones in Phoenix and made me happy.

It kind of makes you eel your 'hood' is special, huh? Years ago when I was still living in SD, a TV pilot was filmed in my neighborhood, but all the filming was done at night and included a house fire scene. They actually painted the house black, broke out a few windows, and looking at the house you would have thought for sure there had been a fire. Raquel Wealch was the main star, and there may have been others that have now 'made it', but can't remember.

My oldest DS lives in Wilmington NC, where several tv shows have been filmed, currently, One Tree Hill. It just so happens my best friend in IL son is the writer(Mark Schwahn)which gives my son and GS opportunities to be on the set. GS was in a recent episode, but in the crowd I couldn't get a glimpse of him. Mark also wrote Coach Carter with Samuel L Jackson and I was lucky enough to walk the red carpet. He flew his Mom out and she called to tell me Mark had a ticket for me also~he knows she and I are closer than sisters and wanted her to feel comfortable in the 'big LA environment'. We had an awesome time and it was one of those once-in-a-lifetime things.

Anyway, not bragging, but certain things like filming in your very own neighborhood or going to a movie opening, don't happen often. It makes for a nice memory.
