gasoline smell in gloves

I hope someone here can help. I checked the laundry forum first, but that seems to be all about the appliances themselves rather than using them.

I bought a package of 12 pairs of work gloves for DH from a local flea market. I've gotten them from there several times before and they've been fine. This time, though, the set I bought must have had kerosene spilled on them. They stink and burn the hands. I tried to wash them without success - I even went out and bought Febreeze laundry odor remover. They're a little better than they were, but the smell is still potent. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA
