I have a Bosch freestanding dual fuel, - gas burners electric oven. I bought it in November 2005 so I don't know if my experience is still relevant. No problems with it so far. It has the separate convection fan in the oven and works well. The stainless top under the burners is not hard to clean but it does show everything, which is to be expected because it has a gloss.

I Usually clean it near the end of cleaning up the dishes by taking a small sponge, dunking it in the sudsy sink water, then squeezing it over the top dispensing the sudsy water onto it. Then I take the sponge and wipe it. Then I rinse the sponge in clear cold running water...wipe the top again, rinse again, wipe again. I follow this with a wipe of a micro cloth to remove remaining water and that's it. Takes less than 4 minutes to do.

Every once in a while I will take the soaking wet sponge, shake a bit of bar keepers friend over it, rub it in then squeeze this water over the top, move it around a bit, let it sit a minute, then repeat my rinse process.

I also have Weinman and Neoblank SS cleaners that I use sometime but they really aren't necessary.

According to Consumer Reports, there is no advantage to duel-fuel. Taking their advice, we switched from electric to gas for the first time in over 20 years, and opted for a Bosch free standing gas range. Ours is white porcelain with (of course) sealed burners on the cook top. We haven't tried anything very demanding of precise oven temp like a souffle, but it's my understanding that the electronic controls on the gas ovens are very precise and give you a level of control that the old fashioned gas ovens that were controlled by low tach means did not have.
And we love the convection feature because of the way it browns roasts.

I have one that came with a bad power module, but Bosch is being very responsive about replacing it. Ironically my uncle had the same problem, with a full electric model, but since it was replaced, it has been fine. I have not been able to use the oven yet, but my parents have the exact same one, and love it. Theirs is about 2 years old.

Aaahhh, the never-ending Bosch range quandry. I have an Integra slide-in in Titanium (stainless and white glass). I think it looks beautiful. I am very happy with the way it performs as far as cooking and baking. However, I think these ranges are very touchy.

The first range that was delivered to me all-electric, which was a mistake because I ordered a dual-fuel. The Great Indoors told me to go ahead and use it until the right one could be delivered in a couple of weeks. Well, that puppy was L-O-U-D! The cooling fan was loud and would scrape against the fan housing and the cooling fan would run over an hour after turning the oven off! I suspect that that range was defective and already returned by someone else before it found it's way to my kitchen.

When the dual-fuel was finally delivered it was a big improvement sound -wise. The fan was much quieter and shut off soon after turning the oven off. After a few months I ran the self-cleaning function and the cooling fan was horribly loud after that. Bosch or Sears replaced the motor with no hassle.

My range has a glass surface under the grates which is very easy to clean. However the area directly under the burners is a white metal that doesn't clean up nearly as easily.

Long story short, I think there are probably other slide-in ranges that perform as well as the Bosch (GE Profile, Kenmore) with maybe less sensitive fan issues. I've decided to keep the Bosch because I love the way it looks and there is nothing else out there comparable. I will purchase an extended warranty for it because I expect it to act up again.

We have had our new Bosch dual fuel for just over 2 months and yesterday woke up to the clock flashing. This wasn’t the first time we had weirdness with the clock,…when we first set up the range and set the clock to the correct time, we would look over and the clock would be running 5-10 minutes fast. We couldn’t understand why after resetting, it would do the same thing. Found an online thread saying maybe our power company had increased the power and to flip the breaker. We did that and it took care of the problem until yesterday. I turned the oven on to bake and it was taking forever to heat up. We tried turning the breaker off for half an hour as someone online suggested and it did nothing. I tried upping the heat to 425 degrees and again it was barely warm after 20 minutes. My husband tried convection bake and got a loud buzzing sound that wasn’t normal and when you turn it on, the heat sensor light says it is fully preheated rather than starting out with one bar and moving up as it gets warmer. Tried calling for a repair but the store where I bought the stove is closed until tomorrow. With the heavy price tag and Bosch name, I was expecting reliability. Don’t spend your money on this … also since this has happened I am seeing so many unhappy people reviewing their Bosch ranges.
