Bunny Parade (part 1)

I was a little hesitant to post this because so many of you have stated that you don't care for cutsie bunnies. But they have taken over my house, till Easter anyway, and I love'em. So, here are some pics of my growing herd of Leporidae. The tiered stand, as well as the wreath are some of my recent TS finds. Even DH said the "Scope" bunny is too much. The brown bunny under the cloche is mine from childhood and the book was DS's.

Okay....I will take back EVERYTHING that I ever said about cutesy bunnies....these are really cute :^) Somehow they just fit your home and look wonderful! My favorite is the one in the chair with the berry wreath, and Scope...he's a cutie!

OMgosh, you are kiddin', of course, about postin'! I love your bunnies! They are so-o-o cute! The white ones & pink are just so precious! And the brown ones, too...ahhh, I will post my brown bunnies soon. Oh, phewie, I just love 'em all! TFS! The vignettes are each so Spring-y! Jeanne s.

Sandi, I'm sure your son does enjoy being the only one around. It's nice for ya'll too. I am glad he colored Easter eggs. Will you get to keep them? Yes, the girls are great-great nieces. It sounds so strange to me. I don't know how I got so o-l-d. lol But it is better than the alternative, as they say. The little girls are my nephew's grandchildren. His father (my brother) died unexpectedly. I am about all the family my nephew and his wife have other than their two daughters.

jdez or shall I call you Jae? :) -are you finished insulating? What is next in your DIY world? So the blasted soffit! Argh! The main hugemongous support beam goes right through there and that is why there is a soffit. Who puts soffits in these days, everyone is busy taking them OUT! Boo! So I *think* the crown will be in front of it and up to it so you won't see a big gap. I hope to find out when I get home from work tomorrow. See, see I told ya! It IS Seattle Mist and it does look gray in the kitchen. Crazy color but I do really love it reading both ways. Island stain is gray but the wood reads through yet. It's called silas and it has a black glaze over it - Shiloh cabinetry. Good grief I hope the floors are life proof but they are wood so they will patina. They are hickory and more rustic with the hand scraping, etc. which I hope will help hide all that 2 boys and a dog have to offer. With it being so open I didn't want a huge transition in flooring so we kept the living/dining/kitchen all wood. So yes, to accommodate the MW and the fridge (or keep it from sticking way out) we pulled those base cabs on the fridge wall forward 6" and the uppers there are 18 or 19" deep, I already can't remember. Doh. Anyhow, with it being so open I didn't want 6" of the side of the fridge hanging out. Bonus that the counter will also be deeper there and that is where I anticipate the toaster and coffee pot to live as well as it being lunch making station. They should all be easily tucked out of view too. I have a very love HATE relationship with FB myself and typically only get on there when prompted by someone else. I have worked in purchasing or materials besides a brief 11 year stint in healthcare when we started a family. Healthcare because they offer part time work and quite a variety of it. So now my kiddos are older and I am back in Purchasing but not in automotive or manufacturing anymore. Breath of fresh air to do something different but still in purchasing. I like numbers and I like variety. I too hope it's happy and long lasting as I am not a job hopper kinda girl. Thanks for not asking, lol. I don't mind. ;) Michelle-thank you. They are pre-finished solid hickory. They had 2 stains and we picked the lighter one (tobacco I think they call it), the other is more a java really deep color. We thought it would show too much dust so we stuck with this one and I like it. It also kind of grounds it as the fireplace and mantle were looking a little formal to me and I think the floor adds back some casual feel. We are not formal people at all. So mini-rant - dh is adamant about wanting cup pulls. 1 - I don't like them as I like to reach from the top not the bottom and 2 - what? why on earth does he care about the pulls and 3 - who uses the kitchen and not just to get a glass for a drink. Pfft. Shaking head. I hope he doesn't mind me going out to the barn when he's building it and insisting on flower boxes or something........turkey. Unfortunately for him I am just as adamant about NOT wanting them. I get his point, they would look nice and I get it he likes the look but they'd drive me nuts to use so it's a no go.

Sigh, I just love bunnies! I did dd's nursery in a bunny theme using Susan Turner bunny bedding, and I still haven't taken down some of my Easter decor. I think those plates are just the sweetest, and hope you find them. Thought you might like this....ds made it in second grade art class and I put it out every year for Easter (much to the chagrin of his now 16 year old self! :) ) I often keep it out until Fall...love it so much.

Well, I love cutesy bunnies, the first vignette is absolutley beautiful, those tiered stands are beautiful & love the pinks & greens together, the vignette with the brown bunnies & the green is just perfect, so like bunnies in the grass in the spring.

The one with the egg holders and the candy eggs in the candle holders is just too cute!

I don't (well, haven't at all posted...just lurked lol) but, your bunnies inspired me to come out of the closet so to say lol...Very cute and I think very well done...your little vingettes are too sweet! Makes me want to dig out my boy's Peter Rabbit books from when they were ch*ldr*n and do something with them! Thanks for the inspiration!

I can't find one thing in all of your hard work that I don't looove.
I had to laugh at "scope bunny" though because I have his friends (allot of them that will be popping up soon) and I don't think there is one thing wrong with him. :)

The 'scope' bunny is funny! I love the first pic! the tiered stand is AWESOME, and the caladium looks fantastic with the entire display and the beautiful tablecloth. I usually don't care for "cutsie" anything, but I do like that. lol!

BTW: what is that tiered stand made of, how big is it, and what was its original purpose? I've never seen anything like it. I'd want to use it for serving fancy cookies or something. :O)

I think your collection of bunnies is just totally adorable and I'm so glad you posted them.

I love the first vignette especially because of the colors - so feminine and spring-like, and the crocheted tablecloth is really lovely. The Scope bunny is cute, it's amazing the bottles that products have come in. Wish I'd saved more. How wonderful to have a bunny from your childhood - that's a real treasure. Spring and Easter colors (and that tiered stand) are sooo perfect with your kitchen color scheme. TFS

Cute bunnies! I liked the idea of putting the jellybeans in a hurricane. Nice touch. Also the wreath around the bunnies neck was cute and the vintage book!

Wonderful collection of bunnies! It is nice to have all different kinds like you do! My fav is the one on the chair with the wreath but I like the cutesy ones too! So funny, to have a "Scope" bunny! Perfect for the bathroom!

OK you passed Part 1 of your Bunny Parade with flying colors. So hope you had time to work on part 2. I love all your bunnies and you always display things so nice.

Will be looking for more bunnies. I remember you saying you had alot but I don't remember how many. Did you tell us a tally on them? So much fun looking at all your bunnies.

Your three tiered stand in the first pic is fantastic! You found that at TS? I have a three tiered stand that looks like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree compared to yours! I love it. I also really like the pink plates and the pink under your crocheted tablecloth--just so pretty. I've sure never said I don't like "cutesy" bunnies, they are so perfect for Easter decor and many of mine stay out all year. That is so neat that you found an egg holder that has your soft pastel colors too! Was that a lucky find too? I like the vignettes you did with the other bunnies too. So neat that you have one from your childhood and have kept you DS book--both work great in your display. Can't wait to see more!

Ya'll see, cutesy bunnies aren't all that bad. Welcome Bluesyblue, I'm glad that I lured you out of lurkdom, it is way more fun when you join in. And I would love to see your Peter Rabbit books. PM, that tiered stand is silver-plate and rotates in different positions. I guess it was made to be a tidbit tray or maybe a buffet plate holder. OA, that green stuff with the brown bunnies is reindeer moss that I bought at the Arkansas Flower & Garden Show last weekend. It is little puffs of live soft moss and the man said that it stays green and if it got hard to just soak it in water. And yes that is me and my mom, way back when, I miss hats and gloves at Easter. Punk, I have about 80 bunnies and still adding, so "Bunnies on Parade" is in the works. Thanks for all the thoughtful comments everybody

Well, although I am one who normally doesn't care for "cutesy" things, that's only for my own house and not anyone else's. I can appreciate cute decs in anyone's place! And, EVERYBODY loves cute Easter bunnies, me included!
How funny . . . I have that same book and basket in the reindeer moss pic! Nice display, BTW!
Love your 3-tiered silver cake stand . . . gosh is that beautiful! So is your pastel cakestand display. I really like your idea to use the pastel Easter candies in the candleholder, too. TFS.

Scope is a hoot...and what do DH's know about decor anyway.

I see lots of photos for our Easter Inspiration album! Yay.
I'll try to work on that this evening.

My cutesy bunnies get center-stage for Easter too, even tho my true collection is the real ones (preferably brown at that). But I love seeing cute ones others have, and how they are used in decorating.
Gosh, don't EVER be hesitant about posting ANYTHING here with us. You know we are a bona fide cheering squad and support group. Plus we pretty much love everything others do, even if our own tastes run different. That is the whole fun of sharing photos and ideas!

Welcome Bluesy, now you're "out", you can't go back! LOL.
