Kids Spring/Easter Table

Hi All! I'm back with more of my silly kids tables. Even though I have been doing this just for the kids (wink wink) it sure is fun and looks kind of pretty too. I have ideas cranking for our Real Easter meals .... I might even use real dishes next time! Oh my! I believe you folks have created a monster by posting all your beautiful pics!

Ahhhhhhhhhh...I just might have to do this on a card table...we will have a bunch of kids....thanks for some really cool ideas!!! They are NOT silly!!!!

Oh, I love doing kids tables, it is not silly at all you did a fine job! You can find the best stuff for kids at a affordable price, especially dollar stores. I like doing them cause it brings the kid out in me :)

LOve your pretty parakeets...that yellow is so sunshiny! But, back to bulbs. As for Aphrodites, I have had a number of different looks from my r. Some were sold to me as Double Record and Rainbow but I was assured by people on this list last year that they were all Aphrodites. Some of mine are totally white except for the thin red edge, and some have that lovely pink blushing. Others are part way between. The ones with the thin red edge on white get a tiny bit of blush but not near as much as the pink and white aphrodites do, even though they have the same conditions for growth. (Ryan, I will not be sure which cultiver you are getting since all the tags just say Aprodite on them, though I did change the tags of some with the thin red ege on white to note that.)They are all beautiful.

Thanks, holiday-ers...for the "sweet tweak" comments! punk...those eggs in the basket are faux ones (maybe wood material?)...not real heavy...I've had them a long time! They look real! And, yes, luvs, I've never moved stuff around in my house (much) until I met you all on the Holiday Forum! LOL! :-0 Those are my 1st blooming daffodils this Spring! Tulips coming soon! Thanks Kath, Punk & Jeanne, the lilacs are silk, had a hard time finding them, but Joann Fabric had these nice silk ones & Hobby Lobby had the white ones. This will serve as my Easter decor too. Had a few leftover that I put in my big cloche with a bunny on coffee table & a few in a vase in bay window. Shopped yesterday & found two things at Kirklands I'm using for Easter, A white pedestal cake stand with pink ribbon ( the one that you run the ribbon thru) have wanted one for a long time & their spring & Easter was buy one get 50% off the second, so I picked out a large mercury glass vase in pink. Maybe I can get pics of them up too.

Thanks all, I knew if I didn't get something done yesterday, it wasn't going to get done. Just came home from back therapy & my back hurts in places I didn't realize existed! Also, all the coughing I did being sick, didn't help my back at all. I had the white tulips & candles up for spring on the counter, just added the eggs for Easter. The eggs on the fireplace & in the centerpiece are very light weight, I bought the entire bag of them at a yard sale last fall for .50 cents, just knew they'd come in handy somewhere. They may be plastic of some sort, but I like the speckles on them, they look more natural. The green bunny (Spud's friend) was from Hobby Lobby 2 years ago, he was a garden piece & heavy, not sure what he is made of, but I love his look, not fancy, just old fashioned looking. The green grass was a bargain from Gordman's on one of our trips to Champaign, Il. for a basketball game. It was on clearance for $3 (marked down from $12.99!!!)and I bought two of them. I think (if my old, tired mind is still working) that the egg picks were from Dollar Tree last year. You might want to check them out for them. It was a whole bouquet of them & I cut them apart. The small bunnies are mostly from yard sales, I see alot of them & have to control myself or I'd have an entire litter (do they call baby bunnies litters? Not sure)... Luvs, that plate is one of two I found at a yard sale, I think I used both of them last year. On the back of them it says "Exclusive design by Jackie Ehman" Carriage House Design. They are very heavy plates, think I paid a dollar each for them. Thanks again for all the compliments, I wanted to go easy on the decor as I'm not even sure if I'm having Easter here, we may be going out of town and didn't want to come home to too much to have to put away after. Plus, have one grandsons birthday in April & one sons birthday in May, so it's a busy time right now. Slinkey, I think we're all ready for some brightening up & the look of spring, been too long of a winter for my tastes !!!

How neat! I love the kid friendly tables. With 11 grandkids I must use those type of dishes when a lot of them are here or I would be crying over broken china. This way we can all have fun. I may even shock them one day with a food fight. NOT!!!!!!! Happy Easter.

Thank you all so much! They really like it. I do too, it's hard not to smile when seeing all the bright colors! The plastic dishes were at Walmart and really cheap too. The kids really have you all to thank since I've gotten my inspiration from here.
Betty: If you decide on the food fight please call me to come join! As long as it's at YOUR house! lol

Tammy, your table is so bright and inviting. Your wall even goes with it. Is your dining room green or did it just come through that color. Sooooooooo Fun.

Thanks Phonegirl! The walls are actually a bright yellow...a little too yellow for my taste and I look forward to painting it in the future! Happy Easter!

tammy...I agree with everyone else...I don't think your kids table is silly at all. It's fun, very pretty and practical too. My kids are no longer small and I don't have too many large family gatherings with many small children at my house at this time. I am sure the time will come when I become a grandmother some day and I will follow your lead then to provide a nice kids table.

In regards to the food fight comments, that made me smile. When my youndest DS was about 4 we had a foodfight in the kitchen. I was busy doing something and he kept bugging me. I just grabbed an egg and broke it on his head...that's how it started and it WAS a mess when it was all done and over with but we laughed so hard and to this day he remembers it and we giggle about it...:)

I think it is fabulous that you put time and effort into creating such a terrific table for your kids. It looks so fun and practical. I'm afraid if I did one, I would not be able to resist using things that are not kid-friendly and then the children don't get to fully enjoy the table. The colour of the walls in your dining room are perfect for Easter/spring tablescapes - love it!

Tam, breaking an egg on your then-4 yr old's head, is hysterical. What a great memory you unknowingly made that day, I bet it grows with each passing year.
That sounds like something Jason's wife, Suzie, would do too. She can be so silly with the children, and they are so lucky to have a mom a wonderful as she is.
