Drywall compound on table

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it appears that a contractor doing some work in my apartment spilled a glop of drywall compound on my dining table. (The reason I'm not completely sure is that he had not reached the stage of using drywall compound, but he may have brought it in anyway.)

It dried into a solid lump before I discovered it. It was easy to scrape most of the lump off, and since the table is oiled and can tolerate a little water, I tried wiping with a damp cloth. This removed the rest of the drywall compound, but a dark stain is still there.

What can I do? I am not interested in pursuing the contractor, only in removing the stain.
