Valentine Table finally finished

I finally finished my Valentine table setting last night. I don't know what the problem was, but I really struggled with it.

I tried several different centerpieces, but they just didn't work. I tried different candle placements, wasn't happy with them. I finally decided on stacking plates and every time I would put one thing on the plate, something else would fall off. Finally got everything to stay on at one time and I decided to call it quits.

I'll probably do a special meal just for me and my husband on Friday night, but this setting will be for our family dinner Saturday night. My youngest daughter loves candlelit dinners, so I made sure I put plenty of candles on the table just for her.

Dream, your table is breathtaking!! So many little details that reflect the Valentine theme making it so romantic! Are the little baskets heart-shaped as well? I love the pink plates and the "Valentine" Mikasa ones on top. Your new placemats go perfectly as well. Your stacked plate centerpiece with the "cupid presiding" looks like it was a lot of work in itself but turned out lovely! Being a sucker for candles, I absolutely adore your last pics with them all lit up! Just fabulous!

Candy, I just got lucky on setting this table. Some of them look better than others.LOL Nana, ok, I'll leave the hearts on. I might take the other set to the office for fun. Did you notice I added white tissue paper to the inside of the vase to make the hearts stand out? Jeanne, TJ is close by. I'll take a picture so you can see where she's sitting.LOL OA, I remember a winter table of yours that was awesome that you used yours on. I want you to do whatever you'd like and don't think twice.LOL I've learned so much from all of you here and I'm so thankful. Your table will blow mine away but please "recreate". I can handle it and would love to see it!!! Wouldn't it be fun to have all of us come up with certain things we need to create a vignette when it's slow on here? This way Karen will join us. Each of us would name one thing it would have to have like a book, lamp, vase you get the idea. OK, it was a loooong Mondayyyy at work. Karen, I would love to have some red metal ones. Each one is so unique and so well thought out with every detail. karen...thanks for thinking that my 'First Attempt' on a cloche, is worthy of the album... I know I enjoy that too when I see someones table here. mm...until I joined Holiday, I was never into the 'Pink' thing. I've seen so many beautiful tablesettings here, that have inspired me, that little by little I've been working on my collection of pink. Now I just love it. jeanne... I would love to see the picture of your DD's and DG's moire dress! I did lots of sewing for my DD when she was little and now my DGD.. and I just love seeing what others have made. I snapped up this fabric last year at $1 a yard! It's usually so expensive and I felt so lucky. I actually bought it for last years Easter Table b/c I knew my DGD would love it! She loves anything pink! jay...from one 'Pink Transferware Lover' to another... I hear ya! I ALWAYS enjoy seeing yours..got anything new lately, to show off?? LG...When I bought those plates at a Flea Market...it was at the end of the day. The woman let me have 8 of them for $12. They really are even more beautiful in person and feel so wonderful too. As for the pearl Napkin rings...I showed how I made them last year. I will look to see if I still have my pics on Photobkt. All I did was take plastic rings and used pearl by the yrd, roping and wound it around until completley covered. Then I hot glued the ends to the ring. Lynn... I'll be waiting...actually 'We'...Cherub's twins, will be waiting to see what you do with him! After I took pictures of him in that cloche...I was thinking that I should have used the larger cloche... I think he could have used a little more room around him! Glad you liked it though. Gosh Jeanne...I'm sorry I'm late, but so glad I didn't miss this. Love all your beautiful Valentine touches and especialy seeing Dollbaby enjoying the holiday too! Your berry garland candleholder looks so pretty and your buffet in the background always looks lovely. Tea Set looks nice and shiney and with the red accents added makes a beautiful vignette. Dollbaby's new/old outfit is so cute - even her little shoes! Her little tray scape - even crocheted placemat is adorable. I have to say, my eye was drawn to her little cupie doll...I can't believe your Mom made that cute little outfit...how precious. I'm amazed you got this all done in such a short time. Oh my goodness, that is so lovely. The china, the placemats, the little heart dishes, and the beautiful centerpiece with all those pink candles. Don't know why, but I've never thought of pink candles, I always use red. Now I'm wishing I had pink. Great job!! - Gail

Absolutely breath-taking. I, too, am a pink fan. I got some pink dishes for Christmas that I haven't played with yet. You have given me lots of inspiration. The stacked plates with the cupid is wonderful. All the little details make your table perfection. I have a confession - I put my pink christmas tree in my bedroom this year so I can look at it as I fall asleep and...I can't bring myself to take it down. I have this "pink" thing really bad! Nothing else in my house is pink. My DH just laughs and says "Keep it up all year - it gives you so much pleasure"

dream..your table is a 'Dream'. Love the chargers and the lovely Valentine Plates. Your floral placemats with your pink tablecloth just sets everything off so beautifully. I think your centerpiece came out perfectly and I'm with your daughter, lots of candles give everything such a special glow. Everything is Very, Very lovely.

And he's so right, you just enjoy your pink tree as much as you want.
Heck, its not a Christmas tree (now), the pink is perfect for Valentines, Easter, Spring. Then it can just be a Romantic Tree till next Christmas.

Wow! Your table is just beautiful--so soft and feminine looking with all that pretty pink. I know your daughter will just love it too. I love the shape of your pink dishes, have you shared what the pattern is and where you found them? The china is a really pretty pattern too and so perfect for Valentine's. Oh wow! That is so stunning! I am a pink lover, too. I had pink thoroughout my house for years and just changed that a couple of years ago. I still have touches of pink. Unfortunately, I got rid of much of my pink dishes and decor. That was before I found this place and learned to keep things to reuse in different settings.

I would so love to be able to set a table that looked like that! How romantic and inviting. I love it all.

What a lovely place to celebrate Valentine's Evening! You've done a fantastic job~ as usual~ creating your table, DG. I especially love your gorgeous pink plates. Thye're so delicate and romantic looking. Love the placemats, too. They look great over the pale pink tablecloth, something that I wouldn't have thought to do . . . but I'm learning!
