Finished Valentine Decor & Dollbaby Ready for Val Day(pic heavy)

Finished up tonight w/Val decor ...just in time for the Val Day tomorrow!

Table centerpc was inspired by one of Kathleen's recent t'scapes posted ... I used berry garland, bubble glass candleholder, TS plate & some glass red hearts, white candle:

Here's the left side of the buffet ... paper book, covered jar of buttons, boy/girl vase & napkins & rings made from silverware:

Here's a close-up of napkin rings that I bought at a specialty shop (on sale):

You saw the right side of the buffet & shelf w/roses pic yesterday ...so here's a full view pic tonight (poor lighting):

And I got that TS silver tea set out from last yr ...altho I just gave it a 'wipe' ...didn't polish it up today...still looks quite pretty, I think:

Dollbaby got some new clothes this past yr (from thrift shopping)...this is her new (old) red Val outfit & that's a hooded sweater hanging on her high-chair:

Pants & little shirt has flower motifs...just cute as a button...sorry the lighting is not so good tonight. Here's a closer view (with flash):

The Cupid doll is from my Mom's things...she hand-sewed the lil' red dress & panties for it.

Here's Dollbaby's TS new shoes (they still had tags on them)...so she's getting to wear her tennies for Val-day! ;-) And that's the new laminate floor you're seeing in the dining room:

Her tray-scape has a red doily I crocheted for a placemat...a little crystal cup & saucer plus the covered jar I just got last week at TS ...I filled it w/glass hearts...the lil' spoon is part of inherited silverware ...has lil' hearts on the handle:

BEAUTIFUL decor, Jeanne. Especially the crackled glass candleholder and the berry garland. Love it.
And of course, Dollbaby looks precious as always.

Jeanne, your cp and buffet looks wonderful. Your tea setting, rose picture, red vase & jar, birds and berries what a beautiful setting.

Dollbaby's new outfit is darling and love those little shoes. So glad you showed a close up. Her tray with the red place mat, crystal cup & saucer and covered jar is so cute.

Everything is looking great. Hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day.

(((Karen))), Well, all I can say about that BF is... Nope, Thumper's mom said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!! With everything you have been going through plus the holidays on top, I am amazed at all you have been able to do this past holiday season. You are one of the most positive people on this forum and if you occasionaly share some of your problems, we are more than happy to listen and share some of your load if only by encouraging words! I would never view you as a whiner, and I would say that "friend" was just using you. When you needed her support, she wasn't there for you. She only wanted you to support her. I am constantly impressed by how you take the time to visit everyone's post and comment. You even find items for others and share the links to help them if they want the items!! You are one of the most giving, caring people I know although it is only through the internet, LOL. With all we have in common, you could have been my sister. I never had one, although I do have a brother. I'm so upset for you right now, I just cannot believe how selfish that other person could be!! As you can see, all of your friends here are lovin on you right now, and we will support you, even if it is only by sending you positive thoughts and messages. BTW, great finds. I always feel better with a little retail therapy. I think you should get the gold and white nativity also, if you want it. After all, that is the reason for the season. Please continue to be your wonderful, supportive self and if you need some encouragement, don't hesitate to ask!! Even your sign off, HUGS, says what a thoughtful, caring person you are! Thanks again ladies for the nice compliments. Yachter..I know what you mean about wearing all those nice clothes to church the tradition of an 'Easter Outfit'...top to bottom.. I feel sad too that kids today don't have that at all. It's hard to get them to dress up for anything now a days. As far as not keeping anything.. don't beat yourself up.. I think we've all parted with something that we've regretted, down the line. So, you're not alone with that. Oh Jay...Now you made ME smile reading about your 'Pin' story!! I can relate to it all. I miss not getting to wear 'my stuff' each day. I was Always such a jewelry freak and had a huge jewelry armorie that made it very easy to see, and grab something to put on everday. I loved having everyone 'enjoy' it too, just like you. It's so nice to know we share the same 'jewelry history'! I agree with you on feeling that the way people dress for church.. it's sort of disrespectful..but times have changed and so have attitudes...I'm greatful for the time I grew up in. Lynn...thank you...I'm glad you liked the vignettes espec the one with the gloves. I thought I'd try something different and took the pic in a sepia tone. I think it came out pretty and Karen's idea to frame two of those pictures I think is a great idea. I feel like a kid thinking up different ideas with those cloches..I'm sure it will wear off in time...lol OA...I guess I really 'touched a nerve' with everyone, on the subject of Hats & Gloves for Church. If I took a vote ... I think everyone would want that tradition back again. I really think, when they stopped the dress code for church, that's when everything changed drastically. It went from casual to 'Sloppy'! I still have a hard time seeing people with T-Shirts and jeans on. It also brings on a different attitude. But, I guess the church felt they would rather have the people there dressed 'As Is' rather than them Not being there at all. Very sad...all around. Thanks again everyone...I enjoyed all of you sharing with me your memories of how you all dressed for Church. It's nice to know I'm not alone in missing that custom. jane

Thanks, OA .... I don't know how many yrs now I've had that vine tree ... somewhere in the 10 yr vicinity at least. Anyway, I first saw a 'vine tree' @ a great Fall craft show in a nearby town that I go to every year. Some gal had a half dozen or so on display ... & I think her price was about $100 ... way too much for me to spend @that time. So, anyway, I dreamed of making a vine tree from our woods on a tomato cage or something, but it never happened. Then on a day trip with a couple of my best friends, we walked into a specialty gift shop & low & behold, here stood this vine tree ... for sale!! The owner said they used it in their displays but it was so big to store so they were just keeping their smaller one (probably about a 2') ...anyway, that vine tree went home with me & I've been decorating it for Fall, Christmas & Valentine's ever since. I love it & it's still going strong & I got it @a bargain price I thought was reasonable. ;-) ~~Jeanne S p.s. I think Jane & Party have both made their own!

Jeanne, it's all beautiful. Your tree is so pretty. I've never seen those little birds while shopping but they sure are cuties. Your rose pic framed with the candles and goblet look so nice on your shelf. Frou's heart she sent you is so pretty and I always enjoy seeing it. Speaking of Frou, where is she? The red glass hearts on your tree are so pretty too. Love to hear you found more goodies. Love it even more that your using them! Your new JB covered bowl was a great find and goes so well with all your other wht dishes. I also love your book, jar of buttons and boy/girl vintage vase. Will be fun to see TJ, your buffet and dining table all decorated. You must be so tired from all the work you've done lately. Washing all those dishes takes time but is worth it afterwards. I just bought a little bunny with a cabbage leaf and broke it today. Had DGD here and was trying to clean up in a hurry. I'm going to try and glue the bunny back to the bowl before tossing it.Sigh I don't know if you remember my twig mailbox. I keep thinking I should bring it in again from the shed and enjoy it on one of my buffets. I use to have it up for Christmas and Valentines day. Hope I didn't donate it. Punk

Oh my gosh, where do I start?
The center piece is perfect.
Those napkin rings are lovely, and the button jar is the best.
I love the Tea Set. It looks wonderful with the silver birds and red vase and jar. The rose print is the perfect accent.
Babydoll looks so sweet in her new outfit and shoes. It's wonderful that you still have your DM's cupid doll.
The high chair tray looks cute all decked out for Valentines Day.

Nana...I don't think that cupid doll is real old or anything...don't know...but my Mom would buy dolls that needed 'dressing' & make clothes for them & take them to TX when they were Winter Texans in their retirement...to distribute to orphanages or hospitals or wherever needed. This is a doll she had given me when she was doing that. She did some simple things that gave simple pleasures to many.

Dollbaby now has here own little trunk of clothes & accessories since I was brought to this Holiday Forum! I thought this outfit was so cute with ruffles on the pant legs & the lil' flowered motifs...& I got it at my fave consignment shop! Shoes, too! Thanks, 'Holiday-ers,' for commentin'! Jeanne S.

I don't really think the present holiday (whatever that maybe at the time) is fully celebrated until I see Dollbaby in her latest attire. I love the fact that you have her and display her all the time.

My mother used to call me Dollbaby from time to time, and as a result, I called my children that and now call my grandchildren that.

Thanks, Holiday-ers! Happy Val-Day (belated) ... but we'll celebrate the whole month, right!

nana...my Mom was also a quilter & loved it so she made hundreds of baby and/or lap quilts in retirement & did the same as with the dolls...she used a sewing machine for many & then hand stitched alot, too. Thank you...I didn't have an appreciation for everything she did at that time like I do now. Jeanne S.

Love all your beautiful Valentine touches and especialy seeing Dollbaby enjoying the holiday too!
Your berry garland candleholder looks so pretty and your buffet in the background always looks lovely.
Tea Set looks nice and shiney and with the red accents added makes a beautiful vignette.
