Can we talk toilet paper holders?
Comments (68)We have 2 "Latitude" open ended holders from Gatco in the upstairs bathrooms. Each is held by two screws. They're rock solid. Love the minimal look too. But this time around we're looking at something different for the powder room we're remodeling. There are so many to choose from. This one comes in a variety of strong colors: Too 1st apartment? And too much work to switch to a new roll? Bookshelf, plus extra roll: Too rustic for us, but I like the simplicity of this one:...See MoreSpeaking of hand towels..where to hang the ring?
Comments (36)Shee, I'd put it as close to the sink and over the countertop as you can to eliminate drips everywhere. I love that toilet paper holder that you found though. whitdobe, that towel looks so nice there. I've never thought of using a larger towel on a wall ring. It's a great idea because I don't like seeing all the drips down the wall from reaching over to the towel from the sink and this would eliminate those. With a pedestal sink, the options are limited. I've looked at the "Healthy Shelf" that holds paper towels but it just seems too big....See MorePowder room makeover: Towel ring placement
Comments (10)I don't have pretty towels yet, I was waiting to buy a new set until I saw how this turned out. The curly willow I just stuck in there but I will consider other items. I'm not a fan of silk flowers where they can be seen up cloee so perhaps dried. One thing I am ruling out based on practicality is the ring being not over the countertop. The room used to have a bath towel bar mounted over there in the right and there were always drips of water where people reached for the towel. I am looking for a nice large colorful piece if art for that wall the room is long and narrow so it needs something interesting there. If I put the towel on the left it will also disguise the electric outlet there. A warm red towel set is a great idea! Thanks for the feedback!...See More"Fluff" post: toilet paper hanging over or under the holder?
Comments (72)Hi Cynic...Meet Caroline!! I had a 4 1/2lb. Fox Terrier/Chihuahua mix, Susie, with me for 12 years. One of the purest joys of her life was jumping up, digging on the TP roll to unroll it, and then grabbing a mouthful, so she could gleefully run down the hallway, into the living room, and then the kitchen. When the long streamer would snag and break, she'd start the whole process over again, I finally installed a higher shelf to hold the rolls. Once in a great while I would put a roll on the original holder since it brought her so much joy. She only unrolled the paper in the main bath. She never bothered the paper in the master bath. And now you "know someone who has seen it!"...See Moresuero
