The code would prohibit you from doing that. The saniflow macerating toilet my only be installed in situations where a gravity flow drain cannot be achieved scuh as in a basement where the toilet location is lower than the house main drain. Connecting a saniflow macerating toilet is not as simple as one might think either. There are a number of code requirements that make it difficult. 1. The saniflow toilet holding tank must have a separate vent running through the roof of the structure and that vent may not be connected to any other vents in the structure. 2. Even though the discharge line from the saniflow is a 1-1/2" or 2" line, it may not be connected to a branch line in the structure. It must discharge into the house "Main Drain" and that main drain must be a 4" line.

Does anyone have any experience with a macerating toilet? We are limited in our ability to add on and must utilize space within the footprint we have, with a slab foundation. This is an option to busting it up. This is a secondary bath. Thanks in advance1

The image you show is of a macerating toilet - I'm curious about people's experience with them (ie, do they back up, cause other problems) - and has it worked to have a shower and sink tied in with it. If we go the way of a regular toilet, we have to also put in an ejector pump. For demo and pump, the cost is close to $10K. Macerating toilet would save us a lot of $ - if it works. The sink could possibly work with gravity, but the toilet and shower would not because they are below the level of the sewer pipe. If anyone has experience with using a macerated toilet, I'm still interested in hearing about your experience. Thanks.

I know it's newish--trying to find any real-life experience with it! We are converting a toilet in a very tight space to wall-hung and had planned to use the standard Toto wall-hung with elongated seat, but this new model with the D-shaped seat would yield an extra two inches of clearance (getting us from 20" to 22"). Worth it, or not a good tradeoff? This is a bathroom primarily used by two tweens and will serve them through their teenaged years. It also doubles as a powder room for visitors. Thanks!
