Bathroom project re-starting. Question about vanity tower/ceiling
Comments (11)Thanks for all the feedback. Currently there is a fur down there that comes down about 24" from the 10' ceiling, and is 12" deep. I think I'll leave it like that because with the 9" deep tower, and the crown that will come up and out a little bit from the top of the tower, the 12" fur down will just be a couple of inches deeper than the tower. So it will be similar to the first picture and the third picture....See MoreMaster bath double vanity - Storage tower or One large mirror
Comments (23)Hello everyone I am so sorry for the late response. My little one got sick .. Thanks for all of your suggestions and comments! I truly appreciate them! I understand that what I would like to have is not going to fit in the current vanity layout we have right now. There is no time for us to change the layout now. They have started installing granite and we want them to meet the deadline to finish the house or we will be left without a place to stay! So we have decided to go with the single mirror for now. There is no point now in worrying over not having extra storage that we may or may not need in the vanity in the future. If after living in the house for couple of months we feel like we need extra vanity storage, I will add extra storage under the makeup area or in the master closet. But I will for sure replace this vanity sometime in the future with a more useful one :) Sophie Wheeler we live in Northern Louisiana. I looked up the guidelines you are talking about. I wish we knew about these before. But are they firm rules or just guidelines? The builder already sold a house with a similar layout last year so I am assuming he had the same vanity there and it passed inspection. I do not know for sure but why would anyone build something knowing it will fail inspection? :/...See MoreVanity lighting dilemma
Comments (14)so if you put the mirrors over the sink, then there won't be enough space for scones on outer side of the mirrors? is that what you're saying? You still aren't being specific. you said the sinks aren't centered. centered to what? in the diagram you've posted, wouldn't you place the medicine cabs over each sink? if there isn't enough room, you may have to use the very thin sconces on either side, plus one in the middle, or you will have to do over headlights, or lights in a soffit of some sort....See MoreLight selection for over the vanity mirror, space dilemma
Comments (6)https://www.1800lighting.com/Justice-Design-Group/Fusion/item.cfm?itemsku=FSN-8926-20-DROP-ABRS Don't know if this gives you enough light at each end. The lamp is 56" long. Then there are strip or tube type of lighting you can use. If your mirror wasn't already installed, you could place 3 light fixtures right through the mirror, one on each end and one in the middle. To me your sketch above with only one fixture on each end looks like something in the middle is missing....See MoreRelated Professionals
