Another Valentine heart

Looks like I've been painting while some of you have been out shopping! LOL

Here's another Valentine heart that I painted this week. Still need to spray the sealer on it and attach a ribbon hanger--waiting for the rain to stop so I can do that outside.

Well, its counter to the method & ways i've had great success with & that's to pot up first, then place in direct sunlight & lightly fertilize the roots at least once until growth appears. Once growth appears let it grow in sun until it just begins to get hot & then plant it in the shade, carefully, as the roots are brittle & so is any new growth not yet above ground yet. Keeping well watered if inadequate rainfall, helps it to keep it from going dormant earlier, especially if it gets hot before or during start of summer, too. Trying out Dicentra 'pink' this year, but bought early while peat in baggy was still moist & have a few flowers now. I'm in coastal Virginia & its been rather warm lately and they're doing fine..Make sure the tops are upright, when planting also...

PM, oh I so agree w/blk bowties!!! I will keep that in mind for next year. To busy this year to get them made I'm pretty sure. High heels are red. Thanks for the great idea. Jeanne, so glad I made you SMILE! You seem like the kind of person who wears a smile 99% of the time from what I know. Jane, Yes, I knew I could count on you! Ya, everyone really looks forward to seeing what's coming next. This really adds to the fun. The full time gal who works for me is so into decorating and that really helps. Candy, oh I would love having pink high heel shoes. The only color left was red so I didn't know what I was missing till now.Sigh!!! I love using pink and green together. Oh Goodness, I love pink with most colors.haha Your tree sounds beautiful. How about sharing it with all of us? Fun2bhere, I love suggestions so don't ever hesitate to let me know what your thinking. We made 65 heart bows like the ones you can see in the 1st picture and tried them before using the heart garland. We both agreed the garland looked better so we used it. Funny how we thought the same as you till they were up. Jeanne, if I had more time and a material store close by I would buy some plain blk material and then some with polka dots for the centers and whip them up. However, it's 60 miles to run get some so till next year the bow ties will be on hold. Oh Karen, your so fun. Nothing warms the heart like fun times shared w/friends. Love it when you sound like the Karen we love. Hope your Fibro is as good as it can be. Luvs, a BIG YES, so fun! I've always been a little reserved on here and try not to show or share what goes on at the offices. The gal who is working full time now at my office is so much like me when it comes to decor. She doesn't have room to store decorations at home so loves what we do at the office. You are all so wonderful to be a part of. Your comments keep me getting out of my chair and trying new things. Valentine hearts: melted crayons

My boys and I did this one year during one of our studies and made "stained glass windows". We cut the sections of "windows" from black paper and sandwiched the waxed paper between. They're still in our actual window across from me now! I did NOT like grating those crayons! I think one of the crayon companies should sell them already grated; they could do it with big machines, with no harm to their fingers! :-D Speaking of crayons... I just read in a stamping egroup that the Crayola washable crayons work well as watercolor crayons. Good and cheap, too!

What cute little Valentine faces, Anj. They will look so cute on your fridge. I know the kids will love them too. That is pretty smart of you to think to make them as magnets. They would be really cute to hang on a twig tree too--you know, where you stick a small branch in some styrofoam in a flower pot and hang little ornaments on it. Some people like to spray paint the tree white. Like you and City, I like her Halloween creations. I had thought I was going to do Mr. and Mrs. "Frankie" this past Halloween, then didn't get them done. (No big surprise there!) Good idea to get a few things cut out and ready for Fall. Don't do like me and put the cutouts in a bin and then forget what book the pattern was in! Wasn't it Belle who told us she always puts a tag on hers with the artist, book name, and page number on the wood piece? I thought that was a great idea. Glad you found a bit of time to paint--I know you enjoy doing that, and it is so fun to have new things you have created. Luvs

You're getting rain huh?

LG, I keep trying to get her to sell her stuff. Then she could buy more "stuff" to show us too. LOL. Her painting always blows me away. I think tho, this might be one of my favorites she's done. Of course next to rabbits, I love birds. Plus grey and pink is such a wonderful combination I think.

Very pretty, luvs! You are good! Color combo is wonderful! TFS! Jeanne S....we have more snow coming tomorrow night and for a couple days (forecast)...hope your rain ends soon & that you not get mudslides like I've seen on the news! Ugh!

Do you know how popular these would be at CTS???
The women would 'gobble' them up..and especially that
you create them fro ALL different occasions.

I've seen on the news, the rain you're getting again..
I hope you're not experiencing the mud slides too.

Thanks everyone, glad you liked it. I'm much too slow at picking out a project and getting it done to even think about keeping an Etsy store stocked! LOL

I do have a friend from the Painting forum who has a blog and an Etsy shop. She is a wonderful painter and often teaches classes as well. I'll post a link to her blog in case anyone would like to take a look.

Karen, have the rains reached you yet? It's clear and sunny here today although still a bit on the cool side. Thanks for all of your concern, but I'm not rich enough to live in the areas where the fires and now mudslides are occurring. I'm always grateful for the rains because we seldom get them in the summer here, and I hate hearing the words "water rationing". ;o(

Your little doves are so precious. Are you selling anything in your friends shop where you work some? You sure could if you wanted to go back to work.LOL

I am so happy you are painting for all of us to enjoy. I didn't get anything painted for Valentines this year, but used some from other years.

I've been enjoying our company and haven't had a spare minute lately.
