Advice on Bridge Faucet on farm sink

I have purchased a farm sink(apron front sink) for my kitchen reno and currently looking for a faucet. Is there anyone out there who just loves their faucet and ?. The one I am oggling over does not come with a sidespray. Is this an important feature when purchasing a faucet? I will have a prep sink in my island and am thinking of buying this particular faucet for the island sink. The faucet is a Rohl

double handle bridge faucet from the country collection. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

IMO the larger the sink the more important the sidespray.

30" not that important.

Smaller not relevant IMO.

Faucets are usually a topic for the "Kitchens Forums."

My prep sink is a Ticor s/s Style 805 and my farm sink is a Rohl Farmhause sink 30" My cabinets are painted creamy beige with a mocha glaze and my island is a sage green with the same glaze the floor is wood. I do not want a contemporary faucet. I Like the look to be warm and inviting. Any suggestions

No expert here, but when our daughter had her kitchen re-modeled she had the faucet mounted an inch higher than her tallest pot. Seems to work for her.

Marcolo is correct -- most of those pix are for a different sink. If I am understanding correctly that you have an older, existing drop in that you want to retrofit with a bridge faucet and sprayer, the task is getting the schematic for the faucet you like and checking it against what exists on the sink. F.ex. if your sink has 3 holes and the faucet needs 4, the answer is no. If you are purchasing a new drop in sink then search for a drop in with the same number of holes that the faucet requires. Be sure they are located to accomodate the exact faucet of your choice. Both will have schematics with exact measurements -- spec sheets or dowloads on the seller's and/or manufacturer's website. If still in doubt, post both and someone here can double check it for you.

It seems like bridge faucets are popular with farmhouse sinks too, but if you want a pulldown, you'll probably have to go another direction. If you like the Vinnata, you might also want to look at the Whitehaus Metrohaus 591. That's th faucet we have, and I got it over the Vinnata because it was slightly shorter and had a nice reach. The lines are just a little simpler too. I'm posting a link to a picture I found, but I bought mine from Home & Stone off ebay. I don't know anything about the site where I found the photo. I've got the same set up. I've got the Shaw's farm sink with the prep sink in the island. (I just bought the house.) The previous owner installed the Whitehaus Vintage III with two different spouts/spigots. While the bases of the faucets are exactly the same size, the spouts are different shapes. You might try that approach. There are pictures below. I am having to replace the Whitehaus cartridges because of a slow drip on both faucets. They are 10 years old. At least they are available. I spent hours trying to figure out what brand and design that had been installed. If it had been me, I would have selected a different arrangement. I prefer the single sprayer with a soap dispenser arrangement. The two separate hot and cold controls are extra motions. With the cross handles, I can never remember which way to turn them to turn them off. The lever handles might be better. The Shaw's sink doesn't drain well. It requires the use of the sprayer arm every time I do something. It's very deep and hard on your back. It's pretty, but I would rather have my old Kohler Strive single bowl with a grid. I do like the fact that the drain is in the corner. The ceramic finish seems to be holding up to time and use. At this point in life, I don't think anyone builds a good faucet. I long for the days when you could just stick a new washer in the faucet. I might suggest saving my money and buying something cheaper than the Rhol, Perrin and Rowe. Kohler, Moen and Delta actually have good warranties and stand behind them. Everyone else seems to be a reseller. Pretty, but flawed. You should post on the Kitchens Forum. Also, I am confused by your post - you are having the bridge faucet at the prep sink? It must be a large prep sink. Or, you are having the bridge faucet at the main farmhouse sink? Anyway, I think a Farmhouse sink of 30" width DOES need a spray. You are doubling your work to clean it if you don't have the spray function. I understand you like the look of bridge faucets, but think about your everyday use/multiple-times-a-day use. The problem with bridge faucets is that (a) you have to use both hands to operate them and turn them on and off, vs. a single-handle style which you can even turn on with the side of your palm if your hands are greasy, (b) 3 holes in the counter to clean around, and (c) no spray function. There are many single-handle faucets that are transitional in style. One that comes to mind that is very popular with farmstyle sinks is the Kohler Vinnata. It comes in two sizes - the larger one for a main sink, and the smaller one for a prep sink. But there are many other choices.

Thanks Shannonplus2. I appreciate your response. I am looking at a bridge faucet (8" across) with no spray for my prep sink. The sink undermount measures 13"W X 16 1/2" front to back. What is your opinion. Do you think it is too wide for a prep sink? Please respond. Thanks

I have the 30" Rohl farm sink and feel a sprayer is definitely needed for that. I wouldn't put in a faucet with that sink without a sprayer. Many people have used the Rohl bridge with the sidespray. It's a beauty. But one nice thing about farm sinks is that most every faucet looks good with them.

Currently, pull downs are very popular with button that locks the spray on. Many brands have them.

8" is standard width for faucets. I wouldn't go smaller in the kitchen. For a prep sink the faucet size can be scaled down but it also depends on the size & shape of the prep sink -- they vary a lot.

Certain faucets -- Kohler Vinnata is a popular one -- come in "main" and "prep" sink sizes i.e. large and small.
