These aren't mine...I have so many stockpiled photo's I can't remember where they all came from, so apologies if they belong to anyone out there. We are planning to use a 12x18" brick joint pattern around the tub. I love the look of larger tiles, and fewer grout lines are a plus.

Also, take a look at the gallery on the Porcelanosa site...they specialize in large format tiles.

Porcelanosa, along with Graniti Fiandre, are ceratinly places where you'll find breathtaking large format tiles. However, breathtaking costs. Those are two of the most recognized names in the world for custom tile, and they're not cheap. The tiles I posted above are Daltile Salerno Series SL-83, and run about 3-4.00 a foot, which is ridiculously cheap in comparison to what you'll find from Fiandre or Porcelanosa, and still a good tile.

Dal also carries many of their other lines in 18-24" tiles.

Bill, I absolutely agree. I wasn't suggesting BUYING Porcelanosa, just looking at the site for ideas. My tile is all Daltile or comparable. The floor is their Ridgeview for like $1.50, & I'm spending about $4.50/sqft on the 8x12" from Johnson Tile. Anything much more than that is waaaay beyond my lifestyle, LOL!

Bill, the plumber had yet to install all the final fixtures but I believer they were to be conventional. The Watertiles WOULD look awesome there, however....!

Hey Bill, I love the window..can you tell me is it fixed or does it operate? And also the molding, sure looks like wood, if it is how does it hold up to the water hitting it? do you cover it while showering?

Although the window CAN be operated, my landlord, for the whole time I lived there (about 5 years) requested that it NOT be openned. As for the trim and molding, yes it's wood, and it wasn't holding up well. When I pulled it all apart, the window trim and sill completely splintered, in spite of my being as careful as I possibly could. So right now, the trim is holding up nicely, because it's all brand new stain and urethane. But I give it a couple of years, and it'll start to deteriorate, as well. The ONLY safe way to have wood in a shower is to completely seal it up with a marine paint. Anything less, and you're asking for trouble.

But I don't know what I'm talking about. Just ask my ex-landlord. He'll tell you. He didn't even want me putting in a backsplash in the kitchen because he was afraid I might not know what I was doing. He only allowed me to do this bathroom because we were having problems with the existing walls deteriorating, and as a result, leaking into the downstairs apartment, and he figured he had nothing to lose, being I was doing it with leftover materials, so it didn't cost him anything, save for a new shower valve.
