Thanks for your thoughts. The fuel and air filters are both new. When I looked at the suspected fuel I dumped out of the tank, I did not see any water or particles. I did do one thing after using new fuel that seemed to run OK. I would bring the engine up to full speed, then turn on full choke until it almost stalls. I remembered an old tip that said if you did this, it would draw large amounts of fuel through the carburator, and possibly dislodge any particle in one of the jets. The engine ran good before and after the choking procedure, so I still don't know if the problem is gone, or just another sleeping dog. The 420C has given me good service. Hopefully this is will be just a little bump in the road. Because of all the rain forcast, it will be a while before I get to use it again. Charles Ranheim

Depending of what type of indoor unit it is, it might be the fan relay or fan sequencer. There are a couple older indoor units that use sequencers that tend to stick. Might check that out.

I agree. I wouldn't be satisfied with a distance diagnosis. Could have probably held the phone up to the unit to do it that way. A second opinion by someone who will go through the wiring, connections, capacitor, voltage, amps and actually check the connections at the compressor terminals would be correct.

mada first of all, I would not recommend the XL16i because of poor dehumidification properties and really think a two stg AC system for a 1400 sq ft home is overkill and not necessary. I will assume you have a straight AC system, not a heat pump. Here are several suggested systems. all qualify for the Fed Govt tax credit. Tranes hold up better in coastal environment. If inland, then any of these configurations would be fine. IMO Good Luck!
