Try getting one of the clip on vibrators for the bassinet. DD loved sleeping in the bassinet with that turned on. And don't shy away from letting them fall asleep in your arms. I did that and my DD is a happy 7 year old, not spoiled at all. When she was a little older than newborn, we'd leave her in the carseat for short naps but not for long-term stays. The other thing she liked was taking naps in the little hammock chair; it also had a built-in vibrator.

I didn't realize this post was so old until I had already hit the reply button. Anyway, a lady in one of the groups I belong to just put one on her site at http://www.makethemyourself.com/carseat.html. She has the toddler one available and it's sort of generic so it might work. The infant one won't be ready until later in the month. Here is a link that might be useful: Toddler Car Seat Pattern

Yes! I drove truck for years and years. The seats are/were an ongoing BIG problem For you the answer is simple. Put a good cushion on the seat. Go get some carpet underlayment and glue together several layers into a shape you can stand and use. The foam underlayment is about 3/4" thick. It is strong enough that it won't scrunch down like the cheep crap cushions sold in stores. You can layer it up as thick as you please and contour it as you wish. Use a regular kitchen electric knife. Have an auto upholsterer make a good cover for it. It will cost a few bucks. It will be worth it. It will last for years. It will take several days experimenting to get just what you want or need. Just keep at it. You can do this. You can also rotate the seat forward or backward or up by putting shims under the seat legs. You can get another seat out of a wrecking yard - move it from car to car as you change cars. Use your ingenuity. Don't take any vehicle seat sitting down :-) There are many other problems but this covers yours. Go for it! One example: At one period I used a thin back board made from panelling with a cushion glued to it as a back rest in the seats. I looped a sting around the seat backrest to hold it in place. That took out the terrible curve in the backrest in those million miler seats. Some curved both vertically and horizontally. Try sitting against that for 12 hours or 400 miles which ever came last.

I use an app on my phone for my Volvo, I can start it or lock/unlock the doors from basically anywhere in the world where I have cell service. I can also see the location of the vehicle on a map, the temperature at the vehicle, check the maintenance and vehicle statistics (mileage, etc.), and contact Roadside Assistance from within the app. I think I can disable the car also, in case it were stolen I suppose. We recently started it from the runway after landing from vacation and the car had been sitting in long-term parking. Doors have to be locked in order for it to start. Shuts off after a maximum of 15 minutes.
