How to remove strapping tape in Samsung freezer (source of frost?

We've just moved in to our house (finally!!) and began using our Samsung RFG 298 fridge. We REALLY like it, and it keeps things at the right temperature, but I've been puzzled by a thin layer of frost on items near the in the top of the freezer drawer.

I've finally inspected the freezer drawer for leaks, and found the potential culprit: Two remaining pieces of the translucent strapping tape on the sides of the freezer. I'm guessing those are causing a slight leak. But with the system in operation and well-frozen, I am having a hard time pulling them off.

Any suggestions for how to pull them off? This is the tape with really solid glue, and thin strands of floss down the length... so at least it won't pull off in small chunks.

Is that the likely cause of the frost? If it doesn't take care of the frost, what else should I check into? Thanks.
