All fridge/all freezer combo? (small ones)

We've looked at everything from tiny landlord-grade standalone units all the way up to integrated (excessive thoroughness is a virtue not a vice ;), and from the form factor POV, we think what we want to get is a pair of small units.

The two pairs we've seen are Kenmore (Sears Canada #463 690 192 and #463 699 192) which are roughly 24x25x59 for the fridge and 24x26x59 for the freezer, and Danby (#DUF808WE and #DAR1102WE) which appears to be the same thing.

Shallow depth is critical (27" incl door is too deep) and we could handle a little taller (up to about 65") but haven't seen anything.

Three things worry me. One is the greater electricity consumption of two appliances, though we may have to live with that. Second is whether the applicances can share a single circuit, I'm sure the fridge outlet is on its own 15A breaker but could we plug both in? And the third is a reference in the fridge manual that says, "Let air circulate around the cabinet. Keep the rear of the refrigerator 5 inches away from the wall." If that's a definite requirement, the 1" bumper on the back seems kind of puny, and it's not practical at all.

Can anyone comment or offer advice on this?

Thanks!
