Here's my Valentine buffet I've been working on. Of course it's pink and I actually have a few antique Valentines from the turn of the century that I displayed with some of my other treasures and TS finds. Syble

Ooooh, *pink*, love it! You are inspiring me to do a pink Valentine's Day vignette somewhere. I don't have old Valentines but do have pink dishes and depression glass. Your pink doily reminds me I have one (or 3) of those too.

Is that a vintage cross-stitch runner? Someone spent a lot of time doing that, love vintage linens. Thanks for showing us your lovely inspirational buffet.

WOW I would say that this is a shrine to Valentine's Day! All the sweetness and pink all in one place! You can tell you put it together with LOVE!

Thanks, OA .... I don't know how many yrs now I've had that vine tree ... somewhere in the 10 yr vicinity at least. Anyway, I first saw a 'vine tree' @ a great Fall craft show in a nearby town that I go to every year. Some gal had a half dozen or so on display ... & I think her price was about $100 ... way too much for me to spend @that time. So, anyway, I dreamed of making a vine tree from our woods on a tomato cage or something, but it never happened. Then on a day trip with a couple of my best friends, we walked into a specialty gift shop & low & behold, here stood this vine tree ... for sale!! The owner said they used it in their displays but it was so big to store so they were just keeping their smaller one (probably about a 2') ...anyway, that vine tree went home with me & I've been decorating it for Fall, Christmas & Valentine's ever since. I love it & it's still going strong & I got it @a bargain price I thought was reasonable. ;-) ~~Jeanne S p.s. I think Jane & Party have both made their own!

Fou, sorry I am so late posting on this, just been at the computer a min or two at a time for a couple of days and sort of missed this until I read another post about Jennies fall, so had to reread to find out what was going on. Your Val buffet is just too yummy. Everything is so sweet. Red has always been one of my fav colors, even if it wasn't Val or Christmas. Jeannie, so sorry to hear of your fall. Hope your'e doing better now. Ice causes so many bad injuries and this winter has been worse than most. Take care of that wrist and get well quickly. Janet

punk...this is what the laminate floor looks like...this is looking into the dining room (Day 3) of (3-l/2) that it took to finish ...DH has installed the trim since then & kids helped move furniture back in today ...so hopefully will be sharing pics later in the week. Thanks for thinking of me! Jeanne S. This is looking from dining room to stairwell landing...door is off the pantry & all the middle & bottom shelves removed for floor installer...I will be painting inside it tomorrow...but wood laminate goes all around LR (on right), Dining (where I'm standing to take pic), kitchen(on left) & landing. I am really liking the look of it ...but it's so diff after having light Berber carpet in LR & DR ...& lineoleum in Kitch. DH & I got our chairs in to LR & TV on rolling cart Fri night to watch tv...this is the floor in LR & I'm painting behind the wood shelves. Fun, uh? Hope you can get your floors sometime, too! Boy, lots of work tho & we had an installer put floors in...we're just doing the finish work of moldings, painting, etc. etc. ;-)

Thanks for commenting, punk, sorie, kathleen, marlene & purplemoon ... punk..blizzards are over & "sunshine" just makes all the diff in the world! Very cold yet tho...but do-able! I'd love to visit your home...from what you share, it's just downright SWEET! sorie ... that print is by Robert Duncan called "April Storm" ... by his signature it says 1980 ...but I bought this print at an frame shop & had it framed 7 or 8 yrs ago...it is one of my favs! kathleen...no, the tree I bought on an after Christmas small town shopping trip...at a specialty store...they had used it in their display decor...& had it for sale...I was in heaven! I'd been wanting one for some yrs since I saw the grapevine handmade ones at a craftshow that sold for lots of $$$. It would be fun to try to make a "small" one. PM...hey, next mo (March 20th) is first day of Spring...so maybe you can decorate for that! You'll be bringing out all those beautiful bunnies!! You've got alot going on right now, woman! You sure do justice to your 'name', excess froufrou~love all the *pink* and green. I do pink and green(lime)too, for Christmas. Love anything Victorian, also. The vintage VD cards add so much to the all-over vignette~it's adorable.

I don't do VD at my house but today I went over to my booth at the antique mall, and did my Valentine's Day decorations, so I got my fix!LOL

Vintage & Valentines Day just seem to go together, wish I had more vintage, I bought two metal hearts with vintage pictures on them while on our way to southern Illinois over New Years, but that is all I have.

Maybe have to hit the antique stores before I do my table.

Your buffet is just lovely!

Very pretty, Frou. I agree with Yacht, that Vintage and Valentine really go together. I have enjoyed decorating for this 'holiday' since I joined the Forum, and should incorporate some Victorian stuff since I love that anyway.
I got a kick out of your statue of the Lady walking the pair of Borzoi dogs. I use to have that statue, and still have a similar one! Maybe I'll try her in a V. vignette myself. (I owned and showed Borzoi in the 70's).

That statue is neat. Karen, nice to know the kind of dog, I was thinking afghan since I knew they weren't greyhounds or whippets. Love that gorgeous pink jar and the pink stemware is beautiful too. Everything looks really nice together, very pretty and sweet--just right for Valentine's Day. Luvs

Wonderful Valentine display on your buffet. Everything is just beautiful. You have such neat things and I always take forever looking so I don't miss anything. I agree with all the above posts.

Since I did my normal can't-sleep-prowl-the-Web thing last night...I decided to look for vintage Valentine pictures, cards, postcards. Some of you might remember for Halloween I printed off and framed a picture I liked to use in my decorating. So I was thinking I want to do this again for Valentines. I checked Etsy, Google gallery, and of course Flickr. Found lots I liked and have them saved while I decide what I want to print. I got some oval vintage looking frames at Dollar Tree to use. Anyway, just thought I'd share this idea. Decoupaging some of these also is another idea. (if you want to do that then print out on regular printer paper and not photo paper. Parchment paper is pretty to use too.)

Luckygal, the dresser scarf is about only about 15 years old and I cross stitched it myself. Lynn, the lady and dogs were my mothers, I think most likely from the early eighties. Thanks for the sweet comments everyone. I have a few more Valentine decs I'm working on and will try to post.

Syble, the Lady and Borzoi you have were around in the 70s.
It originally came in kind of a marble composition, then I guess a mold was made to pour it in plaster and do different finishes. A lot of the latter came out of Mexico then. The original pieces are probably older than the 70s, I just know the one I had was gotten then.
