Joann, Another beautiful pic of your pond and babies. I never tire of seeing your pics. I would love to be able to rock the bottom of my stream, but I can't afford to buy more rocks this year. But I do think I like the idea of using fist sized rocks instead of smaller ones when I can rock it. I don't know if they will look too big though since the stream is only 2' wide. I have the liner laid in place and am just waiting for the seam tape to come in to attach the stream to the pond. I was just hoping someone had some pics of their stream without rocks that I could see. Thanks everyone. Sandi

Thanks, Gilroy! I wonder if anyone has success posting images from their libraries directly to gardenweb? We've gone back and forth--from making the pond into a firepit--which would mean somehow making it drain snow melt and rainwater, to reviving the pond, which means a bigger financial and time committment, plus lots more to learn (just trying to figure out the GPH and the lift and the head height and immersible vs external and direct drives vs mag drives...! Yikes!) We've also talked about making it a firepit surrounded by a pond or somehow making it into a hot tub or outdoor pizza oven. It's the focal point of our backyard and letting it fill up with algae and Mosquitos and weeds every summer just isn't working. Our neighbor put in a swimming pool and all the noisy equipment sits atop the hill just above the pond's retaining wall and behind a hideous chain link fence. We're hoping to cover up the noise with the waterfall sounds and eventually put up our own wooden fence to hide the chain link. But, wow, what a lot of work and expense. I love old houses and am glad you're trying to stay true to the design of your home's era. Have you posted any photos of your home and where the pond is sited in relation to the house? Good luck!

It's been 5 months since I posted this. Thought I would update the situation and also it will move my post along so it won't continue to stay at the top. I used the BreathableBaby Bumper along with Go Mama Go Wonder Bumpers on the rails. These two products (used together at the same time) worked out well. As soon as he was able to pull to a stand (about 7-1/2 months old), I removed the BreathableBaby Bumper and left the Wonder Bumpers on the rails.

Ttodd - Thanks for the color suggestion! They do look together. Here's a shot of the bookcase without the beadboard backing and the shelves. I think the whole thing, finish and all, looks nicer IRL. I'll post pics later today of some paint samples. And just because I want to talk about it... here's what I plan to do on the wall behind the crib. I'm copying the idea from Thriftydecorchic. I bought 11x14 black mat frames today. I'll be asking for ideas as to the color of the frames, hangers, and knobs. I'll be drawing animal pictures for the frames.
