My Dad(rest his soul) bought his horse new in 1983 and it still runs great! My mother and I use that tiller every year without trouble. We don't use as much as we used to but I just drained the original SAE 140 out of it and it did not look bad at all to what I've seen in my own years. Now I'll have to find some, but I will put the GL1 or GL2 in from comments above so thanks! BTW...the book says to use straight 90 or 140. No multi-viscosity oils at all. The comment above about the Kohler engines is spot on. They are indestructible and run like clocks(with a few misses here and there...lol...gas these days stinks!) but it is still running strong with no issues. Wish they still made machinery like that. Too many bells and whistles now a days.

Congrats on the new car! Nothing is more fun than a brand new car. It is beautiful, and it gets very good reviews too. It will be perfect to haul laundry in. I am like Hmorton with the interior - I would get that beautiful cream color grimy in no time. I have a black interior in my car, and I actually don't like it aesthetically, but it does hide dirt, and that was the consideration that won when I was choosing the interior color. I hear there are treatments one can do to car interiors so that any spills will wipe up and not sink in.

Right on, gscience! There's a whole world of auto enthusiasts out there filled with good, helpful folks who are passionate about cars and want to share their knowledge and experiences with others. Autocross looks like an absolute blast as well. This sort of thing is probably in my DNA though, having been raised by a father who was never without a fast car (he raced for a time), and even as an octogenarian drives a collector's Porsche. It's a rewarding (albeit expensive) hobby and I think most people understand that (or at least understand when they DON'T understand and refrain from dissing something they're ignorant about). ;)

My wife got her new phone two days ago. FedEx was the delivery service (UGH). Somebody has to be home to sign for it (which is a good thing). I got my haircut, my wife took Rufus for his walk, etc. The delivery could be as late as 8 PM. It felt like old times where you take a day off from work to wait for the phone company or cable company to install a service. GRRR! Anyway, the phone was delivered at 5:30 PM. I got her started on reading directions for transferring her old phone data to her new phone. It was done in a few minutes. I love how they have come so far on making it easy to use your new phone without too much headache. Yesterday we voted, then dropped her old phone off for trade-in where we signed the contract. The bad thing is she only got $300 for her old phone (15 model). Something about our plan, etc, etc. Oh, well. She got a protective case (two in fact - buy two items, get a 3rd one free - big deal!) and a screen protector installed (I quit trying to install screen protectors by myself). We had to delete both her phone entries on her old Toyota since the data transfer also included the name of her old phone. We stumbled through that process at the Target parking lot (I went inside to pick up my nausea prescriptions). A lot of cars do not allow a person to drive and change settings such as Bluetooth connections. Couldn't it tell that the passenger was making the changes? HAHA! Anyway, I encourage her to use her phone camera more (on a daily basis), else she is wasting time and money on the latest iteration. I have no desire to use her phone for pictures. Thank goodness, our foot-rests are not narrow. I hate it when my feet fall asleep at the ankle - old age problems? Shame for your neighbors having disagreements about what plants to buy. Who is the gardener in that family? I ordered four more plants a day or two ago and they showed up today from Proven Winners. Two hydrangeas and two Rose of Sharon plants. At least your black hose blends in with the background. I hope no one mistakes it for a snake. HA! I remember when Gloxinias were very popular houseplants. They seemed to have fallen off the market which I didn't realize until recently. It's good you have all your plants in. Are you expecting a frost this weekend? My mother's town is expected to get to 34-36 tomorrow morning. Yikes! We will be in the low 40's so that gives me some cushion. The yard bags/scrap bags are so much better than the old flat tarps (for the most part). That is a low cost service for your AC-heat. Our guy texted us a couple weeks ago to provide service but for now, we are letting it alone. Changing filters is not a big deal. Maybe this spring, we will have him come to inspect and service the units. The pix you posted are nice, but they seem more apt for spring time instead of fall photos. I liked the low to the ground tulips with the patterned foliage. I think I told you that I wrote to Cracker Barrel at least twice about their service and got a gold card from them in a week or two. That is a nice gesture to keep us coming back. I bet you will keep going to McDonald's after getting the cards for free meals. Wow, a new bug in GW I just noticed. When I hit the escape key to get out of the picture I click on, the cursor jumps all the way back to the very beginning of this thread. What the heck are they doing? Anyway, I liked the first and third photo you posted. The arbor made of crooked limbs and logs and the stone path. The second photo is okay, but that is one large property. The last photo is good, too but I thought you would hate it since it has gravel pathways. I tried the spiders once again but with my big camera (and the older smaller one). I used an umbrella to diffuse the flash. I was able to move the remote from each camera to the other one to control the flash. I should've taken a picture of the monopod (I am thinking about a new one very soon). Umbrella and flash mounted on a cheap stand. I had to put a brick around the feet to keep it from being blown over by the wind. I took this shot and the next one with my phone. the two camera with the flash control on the old camera at this time. the older camera did a better job with the flash (not blowing out the sky). the big camera did a lot better but I had a hard time finding it with the telephoto lens (I had to go to manual focus) the spider in front of the porch was even more difficult with focus. Here is what I saw with auto focus turned on - my neighbors across the street with manual focus I finally found my target (not great focus in this next shot, but you can see the cars across the street) When I zoomed in and manually focused it had a lot better results. I sat in our chair on the porch with the big camera and lens supported on a monopod. When we left the hospital on Wednesday, I saw this fat caterpillar inching along the hot concrete. A begonia club member said it is a member of the emperor moth. I hope I am well enough to attend this plant convention in December but I kind of doubt I will be. My Mexican hydrangea is looking great. I just wished it wasn't invasive. My first Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum plant from the 1990's (grandmother's funeral). It has been in this same pot (small pot, maybe 12"?) since my mother gave it to me back in 1995-96. I never took great care of it until two years ago when I got into aroids.
