It will get out of control suck up pets,jump on furniture,definitely kill everybody......Just thought Id warn you all.

Yes, they are most evil and can attack families in econobox cars without warning.
Driven always by evil conservative types.
And jelousy and class envy is of course not an issue here.

Well, I decided to put them out there. It is called Winter Sowing (and this is the first real good dose of winter weather in a while for us here in the Philly area), so why not? I placed them on the deck, about 10 across on one row and six across on the other, and for each row, I tied some heavy duty string to one spindle on the deck, across to the spindle on the other side, while going through the handles of the jugs. Put a few bricks up against a few of the jugs for some extra weight. Came out there this morning, the soil was frozen solid and the jugs didn't move one bit. I did it!!! Now to find more containers.....

Hi Mtn, my DD2 came home from a school music assembly when she was in third grade and told me she had fallen love with the harp. I wasn't quite sure what to think since my older two children picked more portable, less expensive instruments after trying out piano (which we already had). Most of my friends counseled me against it, but we let her start. We found a teacher and rented a lever harp. About four months later she came to us and said she wanted a pedal harp because she wanted to play Bach... We really debated about it, gave a lot of thought to equity among the children, and bought her the harp (thankfully we already had a car that the harp fit into). She loved her harp and still does. She is very musical and her practice ethic is very, very strong. When my husband's company moved us from Southern California to Virginia, it took some hunting to find a teacher in the same style she had started in. Then, because she wanted to continue with the harp in college, but wasn't sure if she wanted a conservatory education, we had to help her look for colleges that had a harp teacher who wouldn't make her switch styles (and that also fit her other criteria). She got music scholarships to two colleges, although she ended up going to a university that doesn't give merit money. Maybe the harp made a difference in getting into the colleges she did, but that's not why we, or she, did it. It's part of who she is and what she loves. I drove her to a lot of lessons, auditions, and performances, but I drove my other two to tons of swim meets, flute lessons, drama camps, water polo games, etc. Writersblock is right that strings, etc, add up, but I didn't find it over the top. Plenty of people spend a lot of money on their kids' extracurriculars (I have a friend whose son is a serious hockey player...) For a long time we had a Volvo wagon and it was a breeze getting the harp in it. We have an SUV now and the harp fits fine, but you have to lift it a little more than you do with a big station wagon. I know other harpists who use a minivan. We have no regrets. We were just up in April for one of her concerts (she's a freshman). When I saw how happy she was, I was so glad that harp has been in her life. And she'll share it, in whatever community she's part of. Back to the original question of this post: It is my opinion that large SUVs will decline in sales, but will not dissapear for the reasons given in the posts above. Today, GM annoucned that 750 of their employees (at the Janesville, WI, plant) will be loosing their jobs at the end of June. The 2 shifts of the SUV and truck line will be reduced to one shift. Currently, production has been slowed on the 2-shift arrangement, but GM says they have excess capacity and must trim back to match demand. Currently, GM has a glut of SUVs and pickups on dealer's lots. In recent ads, GM dealers have been placing emphasis on selected Chevrolet models, the ones that produces the best fuel mileage in their product line-up. Around here, people are beginning to moan about filling up their not-so-efficient vehicles, and these are not the middle class, but doctors and lawyers. The average guy is already coughing blood. I am seeing an increase in beat-up older Saturns sedans being pressed into commuting service. How will this play end? Who knows? My take is the big SUVs will decline with smaller, more fuel efficient SUVs taking over some of the sales. Five years from now, it is only a guess who will be yet making big SUVs. It may not be GM. So, who will drop out, or be forced to drop out? iIs a crap shoot. Even Toyota is seeing reduced sales of their largest vehicles. Projections have been advanced that 5 years down the road, we will see a shift in Suburbia and commuting - it will loose popularity. The time is comming when the average working joe can not afford to spend so much of his time working for his car. Small town downtowns may come back with the demise of "big box" mall stores. If crime can be contained in the inner cities and the bullies and gangs chased out, the cities will revive as a living centers. This same crew making these projections also think that the 'real' crunch will begin about year 2012, and that is not far away. My opinion: This change will come as shock to the US citizen. It will not be taken lightly.

This is one of the worst financial decisions I think I have ever seen anyone make. $100K borrowed at seven percent for a depreciating asset (and that's what a trailer is) is a VERY bad investment. You'll be wasting $240,000, plus the costs of repairs and upkeep over the time you live in this thing, and end up without anything to show for it. We spend part of the year in a winter house in FL, the land of trailer parks, and my DH's parent's friends have recently bought trailers for the winter seasons... They paid under $20K for perfectly nice used double wides and the original owners lost a fortune. You can find SO much on the Internet about why buying a trailer is an abominable investment. Look at Dave Ramsey http://www.daveramsey.com/askdave/posts/120895: When you’re buying a mobile home, they go down in value. From a financial standpoint, mathematically, you’re buying a car that you sleep in—a very large car that you sleep in. When you buy a home, they go up in value. I’m not against manufactured housing, which means a whole lot of different things when you say that phrase. But if it’s the type of housing that’s done in some way that the consumer buying it really doesn’t detect that they took the wheels off of it, then it usually will go up in value. If it looks like a trailer, smells like a trailer, it’s going to go down in value. That’s why I’m against it. Before, when you were paying out X number of dollars in rent, that’s all you were losing. Now you’re paying out X number of dollars in rent and you’re losing money every day on the ownership of the thing, so you’ve done double dumb now. That’s why I tell people not to buy trailers. I would seriously do your research on this before you waste hundreds of thousands of dollars.

hummmmmmthe vehicle that hit my hubbys truck was a van,the vehicle that hit my daughternlaw and left her lay was a Vw jetta,Most accidents I see arent SUVS..I dont have any problems you all say you have when I go away...Could it be YOU...........

well you know i work 12 hr nite shifts and theres only certain websites we can get on the company p/c. you cant discuss politics or religion on this site, and the 1 or 2 answers about what oil to use in my 78 doodlebug gt. get boring.on the other hand the 70 to 80 answers on the evils of suvs, very entertaining! too bad we dont have a boating forum, man would i like to get the sailors wound up! i have a 26 ft formula, with twin v8s, sucks gas and serves no purpose, a hummer of the water! sail boaters dont shower. hahahahhahaha

Ever notice the SUV debates get going when the gas prices go up?Good cheap intertainment I say.It got going again a few weeks ago when gas went up to $2.45 here locally.Today it went to $2.56 here locally.Should be very intertaining when the prices really jump during the summer travel season.

i dont think you gonna see it much above 2.75 this summer, mabe a couple of spikes at 3.00, barring any major problems. i think most people have gotten used to the idea of 2.50 to 3.00 a gal.

Barring any major problems?Whats the problems now?Except greed because they know they can get it.$2.75 is ridiculous so is $2.56 like it is now.So was $2.29 like it was most of the winter.Maybe im just cheap but Im glad I got rid of the gas gussler old truck last summer.My gas costs have went way down even with the high prices.But if it was $1.50 like it should be I would be happier.They go from one extrem to another.Winter heating fuel cost sky rocket.Now thats over so there back to there summer traveling SCAM!!!!!!!!!!But thats OK I have the right to complain.I do not drive a large barge anymore.
