Where to buy Garden Way Cart tires?
Comments (19)Well, it was a 6-1/2 year old thread.... Back in the late 50's-early 60's, my tires came out of the Sears & Roebuck catalog or Western Auto. We had mostly gravel streets, so "cruiser" tires were out. Mostly because kids skid rear wheels and they didn't have a thick enough tread to last before the sharp, pointy gravel started puncturing things. We usually ended up with some Heavy Duty Sears tires that lasted forever, but must have weighed 4 lbs. ea. Since we lived at the top of a hill, it was always exhausting to get back home, pushing the bike the last 3 blocks. I gave up the bike when I was about 12 because it was easier to walk. I got back into riding about 10? years ago. I started wrenching on them shortly after and started flipping them on Craigslist about 5-6 years ago for a little extra income. When I quit buying $3 worth of tools for every $1 I make........See MoreAnyone tired of their white subway tile backsplash yet?
Comments (53)Just giving my 2018 take on subway tile - I am definitely bored of it, mostly because I see it absolutely everywhere in bathroom and kitchen photos. The bathrooms with subway tile from floor to ceiling are especially puzzling/irritating. Varying width/length mosaic tile has been in fashion for the last several years and there's a lot of variety there - hopefully I won't get bored of that too soon but it can indeed look too busy. My style is a European look with American practicality - simple lines and a luxury look BUT lots of drawers/cabinet space and real wood, no weird stuff like wall-hung toilets, Edison lamps, or old-timey faucets....See MoreFinal reveal - skip if you're tired of white cabs!
Comments (27)" Yours is a great example of how switching finishes and just do minor tweaks can result in a fabulous transformation." I was thinking the same. Then things like cost, hassle, time, stress jumped into my thinking... Still, it is amazing how color, a bit change of style/some updates, w/o knocking out a wall, adding on space, vaulting a ceiling etc. makes so much difference! It IS lovely! the island counter top is so beautiful - would scare me to death - lol! love all those drawers! plllog's corner drawers are the first I remember being on here and I think I've been here over 4 yrs now. I do like your floor ... so much like my Armstrong planks. I tested some out on my puppy who slid and skid across a 6'x6' span of it just outside my bedroom door. I'd be on the bed watching tv (or trying to nap) and I'd throw her toy thru the door clear into the LR and off she'd race after it. Fly back to me and pounce on me... her nails were sharp and a bit rough (a lot) - I still have scars from them. BUT, the plank section didn't have any scratches to be seen even after about 6 wks of her wear and tear on it. I knew it was the floor for me. The color is about the same too. I've been thru the old dog (and meds) and slippery flooring. My old girl's last yr I carried her into the vet office for appts and someone there thought she couldn't walk (I guess I was cruel not to put her down). She walked fine (boy did she walk - wore me out) just not on their slippery tile floors! I didn't want her to fall on them with her little boney body....See MoreBetter ways to clean tile floors?
Comments (7)The cloths are microfiber terrycloth material and you can purchase additional ones to the tune of how many you think you need, or you can make your own with any kind of fabric you would like to use. When you are done mopping, just hand wash in mild soap, rinse, and air dry, which only takes a couple minutes to do. I use the first side of the cloth for the laundry room, kitchen, dining room, then the other side for the two bathrooms and living room. I steam mop floors once a month (did it once a week when there were kids still at home) and have never damaged the baseboards, and I've had both painted and now stained baseboards (in different homes - and we are the first owners of this home purchased 9-years ago, and the trim still looks new). The steam is directed mainly in the center of the mop head. You can also control the amount of steam you are generating. So when you are around your baseboards, you wouldn't apply as much steam, if that is your concern....See Morebucky
