fiero question, can't find the part I need!

Hi! I have an 84 Pontiac Fiero. The other day I came home and turned the engine off and the radiator fan in the front stayed on. I disconnected the battery and have been searching for the part ever since. I think I need a relay, however, I can't find the part that is in my car at any auto parts store. I even went to the GM online and the part wasn't on their site! I looked for "radiator cooling fan relay", but maybe this one is called something else. When I unplug this part that is in the picture, the fan turns off, when I plug it in, the fan turns on... if the engine is running or not! Maybe it's called something else? Maybe it's just so old that I have to find it at a junk yard. I've checked Napa, Pep Boys, Advance, Autozone, and Central Auto Parts. None of them seem to have it!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best bet is to go to a dealer and find the oldest partsman possible. He might remember it.

I bot a 84 Bonneville new. In 1994 I needed some small carburetor part that controlled the fast idle. I had the correct name as I had the shop manual. Well they changed the name over the years. Parts man took a flying lucky guess and came up with the right thing but had never "heard it called that before."

That piece in your hand, was every wire going to it black?

It looks like a grounding bar, or otherwise referred as a ground bus. Instead of making multiple splices, they use a "comb" inside of the bus and then connect as many grounds as they need to. I suspect the reason the fan turns off is because you are removing the ground to the control relay, or the fan ground itself.

Further diagnostics are required.......

Colld - You are awesome! Thank you so much for letting me know where to find the Virginia Mist and Jet Mist. Basically I think I need to work backwards - start with the supplier and then find a fabricator who works with them I guess. It sounds like PMI is great. I looked up the stones you mentioned and they are gorgeous! I have never seen the Giallo Matisse - totally beautiful. Will you do them in a different finish? or keep them polished? Eastcoastmom - who did you use to install? Are you in Philly, too? What stone did you choose? I think I need to schedule a babysitter and then do a day long trip of driving to these places. They are probably 1 1/2 hours away from where I live, but well worth the trip if I actually find something I like. I'm completely confused now that the KD said I couldn't pull off Virginia Mist. So I guess I have to rethink everything, even if I go back to VM as what I want. Thanks everyone for all of your kind words and advice. This forum is SO helpful to me right now!

If this helps, (and this pic is when we were still working on the kitchen, but it's the only one I have on the computer right now), this is our kitchen. The original cabinets were a light oak (I disliked them a lot!)I painted the cabinets and was worried about the grain showing through. I sanded and primed, and re-sanded and put two coats on, and can't see wood grain. In the pic though, the cabinets facing you still needed another coat of paint! We went with Fiesta Gold granite--but it looks exactly like New Venetian Gold. The fabricators change names sometimes from what I understand. As I was trying to explain above--I personally like white with darker floors. But you mentioned that you are planning to replace the floors. For what it's worth, painting wasn't bad. :) And we've got two kids and a dog running around! Again--bear in mind that this isn't a completed kitchen. No backsplash, pendant lights, bar stools, etc...but it will give you an idea maybe. Here's the granite if it helps at all:

I'm sorry I looked. Either I'm not figuring right or there are bugs. I entered our zip; chose CVS and Walgreens; entered DH's two daily meds. The plan sorter rates plans by total annual cost. The premium for the top pick is $22.50/mo. ($270/annual) with a $400 deductible. That's $670 annual cost to have the plan, right? But the plan sorter says Annual Cost to DH (premium, deductible and meds) is $586.

If it matters to you, you may want to do some quick homework on your local codes. Some of those railing details in the pictures would not meet current bldg code, which technically would be required if you’re doing a replacement.

What does that harness connect to????

I have that same part just lying under my driver's side headlight. (disconnected)

I have searched everywhere for the end to plug it into, but to no avail. Also, my fan hasn't worked since I bought the car a few months ago.

Fieros... a partsman's nightmare. Good luck. Your best bet may be to find a fiero club in your area.

you can buy this relay in acdelco (part number 15-8212)fan relay 2 stages.
if anyone can buy this relay for me letme know because i live in mexico and i cant get this relay.
