It also was obviously available without the burgundy rim. Thank you everyone. I enjoyed reading all your comments. Jeanne...I was trying to figure out what to use for a 'splash' of color..my red runner wasn't doing it for me. When I put down the red scarf, I liked the soft flow of it. I'm looking forward to seeng your floors. HOpe you take plenty of pics for us. OA...'elegant, yet so warm and inviting at the same time. BTW...the Heirloom White - Satin..is by Rust-Oleum (Painter's Touch) It has fabulous coverage. The color is a nice soft white. I bought mine at Home Depot last Summer 'cheap' - I've been giving 'new life' to many things I have. In fact I've got to replenish my supply. DH discovered mine and he's loving it too! Punk..you and some other 'enablers' here have really inspired me with all your lovely tables and decorations. I guess I caught the 'Love Bug' and had to do something too! Karen...'You' not an enabler - ... HA! For someone who doesn't do tablescapes, you put together the most lovely vignettes with ALL your collections and Holiday goodies! I get totally swept away! Linda, Sorry, I didn't think to take photos while we were packing and now everything is packed away in storage. I looked online to see if I could find some examples of the markings that were on the back, but I didn't see any. Oh well. I know the staining is not part of the pattern because it isn't on all of the pieces, and my MIL remembers this china from her teenage years and says it wasn't like that back then. But thank you for responding and trying to help. :) Luvstocraft, I will definitely try that when we unpack it. Thanks for the suggestion. :) Stumpy

The Limoges France tells that the china was made in Limoges. The Lestienne is a design school in Paris and Square Monotholon is an address in the 6th arondissamont. I don't believe it was made for import....but not sure. and I think it's older than 1950's...more likely the 1920's.
