Can anyone tell me sth about this antique table?

There's a beautiful Japanese painting on the top. I'll really appreciate it if anyone can tell me anything about this coffee table.

Not sure if I can post some pictures here but I am going to try anyway:

Sombreiul, I'm not sure what you mean about the top being abbreviated and it having a higher crown, but I looked at the top and I don't see any evidence that anything else was ever attached to the top. No screw holes or glue or anything. As far as the pins on the "decal", their are little gold nail heads or pins on each side of the decal. Linda, I took pictures of the back of the handles and the key from the lock. The handles do hang off the sides on the front but that might be because one door is raised on the edge and the handle would not lay flat. Maybe they moved the other over to match? The key says "ASRO" and under that it says REG and a D with a dot under it REG IN UK and on the back says British Made.

@colleenoz. I not too sure what you mean in your post, to be honest.... @ingeorgia. Yes, I'm happy with what I got for it. I sold it honestly, making it quite clear that I did not not its age or what it may have previously been used for.... What I meant was that I feel for the person who bought it, if they have bought it based on the potential mis-information of the seller. Cheers

They are beautifully crafted, in great shape....not too old....not brand new. I can't begin to know what someone would pay. That sort of style is not my cup of tea....but I know there are those who appreciate the craftsmanship. Don't shortchange yourself....they are unusual pieces....and appear to be sturdy and well made.

Annie, the first time I posted pictures to Garden Web from Photobucket I put in the codes, I saw they appeared in my post and so I deleted them from the Photobucket site and to my astonishment they disappeared from the GW post!

Then someone enlightened me that the codes were a LINK to Photobucket and you had to leave the photos on Photobucket. It was news to me. Perhaps that's what happened in this case. We live and learn.

That's exactly what happened. I don't know how it all works, but in essence, I think what happens is that a window to photobucket is opened in the posting, so you do have to leave the shots in photobucket in order for them to stay in the message. My photobucket account is used only for GW stuff, so I just leave everything there and don't usually even organize them much. My main on-line photo albums are at webshots.
