Thank you scraplolly. The weeping tree is a Snow Fountains Cherry(Prunus x Snofozam), purchased from Lowe's. The two burgundy bushes by the house are Crimson Pygmy barberries, the one in the center is a Rose Glow barberry. Some people aren't fond of them because of the thorns and other reasons but I like them. The orange flowers are lilies. They were among the first things I tried planting before I really got into it. I'd hated that chimney for years. It's stamped metal and I could never figure out the rationale behind it being white but that's the way they built them around here when this development went up in the late sixties. There are several houses with them around here. I taped off the "mortar lines" and after taping, realized the way the original white paint overlapped made it look three dimensional, almost real. I also painted the "capstone" with a sand colored stone finish spray paint and the cap with metallic copper paint.

I guess we are lucky, but even the nasty home my brother was in before I got him moved, let him choose his outfits, especially if he was going out. I guess part of this is due to me advocating that residents be allowed to maintain choices in their lives. It has always bothered me that once in a nursing home it seems like that person no longer has choices..........no wonder they don't live long, families take every thing away and then ask "why are they so depressed?" I believe that families should speak up and make sure their loved one be allowed to do as much as they can for themselves, even if it is just picking the clothes they will wear each day. My mom is going to the Civic Light Opera next month and she already wants to start planning what to wear! LOL!!!! I should add that the CLO is an outing planned by the activities dept. They take them as many places as possible just to get them out of there for a while. Of course the residents have to pay their own way, but since even medicaid allows them to keep a small amount of money most usually have enough to pay for themselves for an outing here and there...........and it makes them feel good that they can do it!

Judy, I'm so sorry you haven't found the patterns you wanted. I think Jan has a good idea--just look for colorbook pages and adapt that to your blocks. Gosh, you could even glue on fabric, faux crystals, gold cording, and use lots of glitter on them. Could be really nice. Hope you'll share pics if you ever get them made. I found one more site that has paver patterns but not wisemen I'm afraid. I'll post the link anyway in case someone else might be interested.
