Miele dishwasher install
Comments (4)We just installed our Inspira G2142SC this past week (the discontinued version). First, it's a super, super easy install---I was so glad we did that ourselves! (I bought our machine on an AmEx to get the extra year of warranty that we would have gotten by having a Miele installer put it in, so no loss there.) It doesn't need a high loop or air gap---we managed to pass inspection without one in a state where code requires an air gap. You can still put a high loop in if you want, though---as far as I know it won't hurt anything, but it has an air gap built in. I emailed Miele to confirm this so we'd have a record for our inspector. HTH!...See MoreMiele versus Bosch Dishwasher
Comments (21)From a servicers point of view, both machines are very good. But so are most of others on the market. Anyone who follows what is posted on the web will end up with analysis paralysis and go crazy. Dishwashers have the most varied results because of a number of factors when installed in a home. Consumer Reports levels the playing field by following the same tests with each brand and model. So it is a good reference point. The problems we see with dishwashers of all brands are: poor installations; fill and drain hoses incorrectly hooked up. Machines not leveled or anchored. Sand or dirt not flushed from the incoming water line, clogging up the dishwasher water inlet valve, inadequate electrical wiring and on and on. Much of this leads to poor cleaning results that owners blame on the machine. Often the user can't be bothered to learn how to use the machine. But complain when things don't go well. Then when we are called upon to fix the problem, we educate the owner on simple stuff like using good detergents and rinse aids, making sure their disposer is empty before using the dishwasher and on and on. All dishwashers except the very basic builders grade models will do a decent job if they are installed and used correctly. Our advice, ensure that the machine is properly installed. Follow directions on loading and machine care. Use quality detergents and rinse aid. Viola.....you'll have clean dishes. Even from a $350 machine....See MoreCalling on Miele Dishwasher Experts
Comments (1)There are too many choices for me to keep track of every one, but the "place settings" are contigent on the baskets. The fancier baskets that store more dishes can be ordered as a replacement part. They used to be around $150. SO, you could get the entry model and the TOL basket and get what you want....See MoreMiele G2142 vs G2141
Comments (9)I have a 2142, purchased here in the USA last year. It was an in-store purchase. It works beautifully and is surprisingly quiet, given that it's the "loudest" of the Miele line. At the time, it was listed on the US site, because I looked it up and downloaded the user manual. At the moment, only the current models are on the Miele USA site, so they must be doing some work on it. If you Google the 2142, the model will come up at AJ Madison, Ira Woods, and a number of other US retail sites, so it was widely sold here in the USA. In any case, I don't think you were "taken for a ride". It's a good machine and you have a warranty, it was a good transaction. Cj...See Moresconway11324
