Miele Inspira 2141 review

After a delay due to the Great Chicago Blizzard of '11, my Miele Inspira 2141SS was installed today.

Background

I purchased the dishwasher at The Great Indoors, a Sears subsidiary. It was a floor model at ~30% off the MSRP of $1199. Because of the high installation fee ($220), the store waived the sales tax. Final installed cost was $1047. The purchasing experience was fine, but I am not the type to negotiate or indulge in banter with the salesman; I just said "I would like to buy that, please" and got out my credit card. So YMMV at The Great Indoors.

Installation

Installation went smoothly from the guy recommended by the retailer. In and out in 1 hour.

Review

It's not as whisper quiet as I expected; it's about the same as my old Bosch. Maybe that's the difference between the bottom of the line Inspira and the higher end Miele models.

Arranging dishes was difficult at first, because the Miele designers are smarter than I am. "Oh, it goes THAT way" was repeated by me several times. The tray design is really good.

Finally, it actually washes dishes very well. Imagine that. :-)

Thanks to this excellent forum for your advice on this and all other topics.
