Wow!!!! That's a little like saying how do you know a plate when you see it. Best get thee to a web site where you can familiarize your self with the types of depression glass.....then to a couple of shops where you can perhaps find someone who will point out the differences between a repro and the real thing. But you won't find a repro in anything but the big expensive items like a covered cookie jar. There is the pale colored glass available in sets....with glasses plates cups and serving pieces. Then there is the kitchen stuff like Fire King and some uranium glass even, and the deep solid colors like ruby red and cobalt blue and the opalescent hobnail stuff....and the elegant depressinn glass stuff.... Yeah....it's pressed....because it's certainly not blown!! and those are the only choices for how glass is made. It has "hob nails"....but it's not hob nail glass.... Likely it's 1940-ish novelty glass....but not the kind of glassware commonly called "depression."

It looks like a glass plate of the depression era....but certainly not "depression glass"...much too fine. It's a crystal plate...likely had matching goblets, wines and sherbets. Perhaps replacements could find the name of the pattern for you?

Rees53, My husband has quite a bit of depression glass and I borrowed his books to look up your pieces. As mfrog said, the butter dish looks like Madrid and I believe the first plate is also Madrid. The second plate looks like it might be American Sweetheart. I hope this is correct information and helps you. Marylee
