I'd do some research on your own, since he doesn't appear to know what he's doing. Maybe call the company that makes the hardware? See if you can figure out how it's supposed to be repaired, then give him one more chance to do it -- or the option of having him pay for someone else to do it right...

Thank you for your reply. I don't mean that he doesn't want to come back really, but he asked me what I'm doing to make it happen again and I'm doing nothing but taking showers. I know the shower pan is not moving because I watched it be cemented in and it is unlikely to me that the walls have moved due to settling (too soon I think). One other thing that is peculiar.....heat makes things expand, but after a really nice hot shower, the doors don't touch until they cool off. Really odd.

I am very sorry, but I cannot seem to figure out how to get the photos out of the camera and into the computer. Thanks anyway.

If you have a card reader, you can take the card out of the camera and use the reader to transfer the photos to your computer.

Thank you. I do and I put the card in the computer and it freezes up the computer for some reason. I also slid the little door over on the card and tried it a second time and it froze the computer again. Each time I had to then reboot the computer to use it. It is a new card that we purchased while on vacation. We must have purchased the wrong card. I can only seem to view the photos in the camera. I am not computer literate so now I'm stymied. I then took photos with my cell phone, but you can't see anything good as the phone doesn't take photos as well as the camera. :(

I recently read another thread from a woman and her husband who installed an angled shower door and I was surprised to see that on the stationary panel they only had 2 hinges on the wall. My stationary panel has a u-channel on the wall as well as the floor. This must be the problem of why it is slipping. I don't know that the installer will change this for me or even if he can change it. I don't know if he screwed the u-channel to the tile or just siliconed it. I was not here for the install of the doors.

Today it is worse than ever....now we can no longer even force them closed. I call him every morning and never get a call back. This is not a question of money. I paid a good price, not a fly by night. He is one of only 2 companies in my area.

I'm just perplexed. My husband looked it all over too and says it defies logic. Especially the part of when the glass gets hot it seems to shrink not expand, so something else is clearly going on here.

Well, don't force the doors shut! My understanding is that they can shatter if they touch. I think you need to get this taken care of.

Has anyone looked at the door's hinges? In researcheing our install and talking to a local installer (we DIY-ed ours) we heard that that's a likely area to fail. If the hinge screws aren't set securely in a stud, but just drilled into the tile -even if they use plastic anchors- the screws can pull out just a little bit and cause the door to sag towards the other panel. If that's the case, I'd say it was installer error. Though he might say, well, your framer did not put a stud in the right place. But, maybe better anchors could help, longer screws, etc.....

If the fixed panel is siliconed in place, it should not be moving. It's just sitting there in it's channel, (on setting blocks hopefully) and even w/o the silicone, would probably not move. No force or movement on it, right? But the silicone bonds to the glass -as they are essentially the same material- and REALLY makes it stay put.

That's why I think the door is your culprit. Can you carefully grab/lift the door and take the weight off it, and wiggle it a little bit to see if there's any play where the hinges attach to the wall?

You know, you make a good point....maybe I am assuming it is the stationary door.......but then again it HAS to be the stationary door because that is LOWER than the moving door. If it was the moving door that was off kilter, then wouldn't that one be lower?

I have a new disk in the camera....I am going to try to post photos after all.

I spoke with the installer today finally and he will be here in 10 days. It seems he had surgery and has been out of commission. He is a "one man band" and only has one other part timer, but they will both be here in 10 days.
